How far to go?

Blue dream, day 58 of flowering in Coco, feeding with GHE Trio and cal mag.

Also before you guys ask, I have no idea what's wrong with it.

What do you want to know?
They are definitely not ready to chop. Give em some cal-mag and back off on the nitrogen.
I just wanted to know how far till harvest. But I am feeding them plenty of cal mag, and very very little nitrogen. I'm giving them 50% of the recommended dose of Floragro (As it says on the bottle)

Do you pull them out every week or two so you can water with lots of runoff?
I've seen lockout issues when people try to run soil with zero runoff. It can be done, but you've gotta be careful. Everything will look fine, then BAM -- big problems. Lockouts are often misdiagnosed & growers usually make them worse.

I see you're in coco. Do you get runoff? It's pretty much mandatory in coco if you want to feed every time you water.

Yeah I get runoff every time. And I flush ocasionally, just to balance out the root ph again. I flushed it yesterday, because the root ph was around 5.0 so I flushed until it was 6.0, then gave it a 50% feed.

Sounds like you're doing everything right. Those colas should keep swelling up while the "hairs" turn orange and recede.
You'll know they are done by looking at trichome tips using light and magnification. If I see any amber on buds, I chop em. I also cut them down when I see bananas. Not worth the risk.

Thanks! That's what I thought too, but they keep getting worse, that's what's confusing me. It's my first grow so I don't pretend to know everything, but I'm following the directions on the bottles, I'm feeding cal mag and keeping the root ph around 6.0... Yet they suffer.. I have no clue..

Thanks for the help though. Also, what are bananas?

Bananas are small male flowers that pop out of buds when they are starting to get overripe. They are easy to spot because the color does not match the rest of the bud.
Male flowers can also grow at the base of the buds, but they show up earlier and resemble testicles more than bananas. Avoid strains that grow balls.
Bananas are normal if the buds are overripe.

Probably 3 more weeks by the looks of how white the hairs are. The discoloration is light burn.

Shit I hadn't even considered light burn.. I can't move the light any higher, I should dim it a bit, right? Will that make a difference? or is it the distance killing them?

Forgot to add ... Potassium deficient - edge browning and yellowing ( which florabloom would fix ) and cal mag .
Stop flushing medium , it will only keep everything off balance.
During your " MIXING " of nutes ... PH that to 6.0 - 6.3 . Forget runoff ph , it is not necessary to keep checking at this point of flowering. If you keep the last few week in check til harvest , you will be fine. I estimate at leadt 2 weeks .. Give or take ... By then you should be on water only anyways.

Why floragro not florabloom ?
I'm using both, the bottle tells me to use a tiny bit of flora gro, and a lot of flora bloom.

So it's not light burn?

If you are at a TRUE FLOWERING stage - meaning Day 58 of ACTUAL flower , NOT from seed. Then you are at week 8 and should be on the last few weeks . Leaf issues will show anyways as the plant starts to feed off of itself. So leaf issues that " LOOK " like a problem are actually normal during last stages ... More importantly is judging how the triches are looking and waiting for optimal maturity.

If lights are around 18" from canopy , you should be fine. But Sometimes you may have to tweak that .

I'm at day 58 of actual flower. And the lights are 9" from the canopy. I can't raise it any further sadly. Moving into a bigger space next time. :/

Thanks for the advice

Yeah 9 inches away is pretty damn close. If there's no way to raise it then I guess next time you should grow more plants but shorter, meaning less veg time, or just get a higher chamber. And if they're already 8 weeks into flowering then only 1 or 2 weeks more rather than 3 as I said before. Somehow I missed the 58 days you wrote and was just going by appearance. They'll be okay with the burnt leaves, just gotta be more careful next time. It happens to me too sometimes when they get too close. I've had them burned a lot more that that.

Should I dim the light? Would that make a difference? It's at max power. And thanks for the reassuring words. I hope they're fine for harvest, do you have any yield estimate? Based on my impression from other grows I'm above the 2 ounce mark at least. But then again, I have no idea.

They look pretty tasty ... Blue dream is always part of my grows.
:bigjoint:
Can't wait to taste it, for some reason that strain is impossible to find where I'm from.

Yeah you'll probably get 2 oz. With the dimming, it's hard to judge how much to dim it unless you have a PAR meter. You would want about 800-1000 PPFD. They don't look that bad really. Might as well stick with the way it is now unless it gets more burnt. Just try to get it set up better next time if possible, would be my advice. You need a higher tent apparently.
