should always do a few to make sure as 1 is a pretty bad percentage game to play lol.If she shows female take 4 or so clones from her and get them going so next time you have a female or 2 for growing for sure and 1 or 2 for being moms so you always have known females and dont have to play the wait and see game

are the chances exactly 50 percent or does nature tend to favour one?

My last grow of 4 plants... all fucking males, so hopefully the Ganja God will take pitty on me :-|

nice pic BTW

pretty muchit has always been about 33% for me. 16 plants from seed and i usually get about 4-5 females. ive done it countless times and it always seems to come about the same the worst ive ever got was 25% and that was sprouting 40 and i got 10. the best was 40% sprouted 25 and got 10. its kinda of the luck of the draw most times.

its a genetic crap shoot. When I order seeds I usually get a 7 or 8 female to 10 seeds ratio.I usually grow from clones from know female moms and save me so much time.I actually just did my first seed sprouting in 5 years about month or 2 ago.

i think you cant make clones up until 2 weeks of flowering. I have and I have had success with them. I tried to pick my clones that didn't have ay pistols on them. You should be alright.

its always been 10-14 days for my plants to show sex, as long as there isn't any light leaks and its getting enough light and your environment is decent you should see sex no later than 3 weeks for most strains

I sometimes take clones before I know the sex
clones usually take 10-14 to root fully you want lots of roots showing not just a few tiny roots poking out before you plant it. If you plant clones to early there could run into problems with the roots not getting enough oxygen idk thats what Ive heard
so basically in 3 or 4 weeks you will know the sex of the plant while still keeping it in its veg cycle
putting clones straight to 12/12 works good for me but vegging always gives you more yield
proper lighting and everything else you can get an ounce or more per clone
I find growing lots of small plants to be easier to maintain than few bigs plants at least in my hydro setup
400 watts x 2 6 gallon tubs x 4 clones each tub could equal 4 ounces a month on a perpetual cycle

oh and cloning is best to do before 2 weeks into flower
I feel like any training, cloning, tying down, or topping should be done before the plants has its growth spurt

Why? They will show sex on their own. Last time I planted 50 seeds, the slowest two showed sex with the 7th leaf node. 0 out of 50 needed 12/12 light. Most of the rest showed at the fifth. By forcing them to flower you might make them show sex slightly faster but you lose the same amount of time if not twice as much in the time it takes your clones to get back into veg mode.

The only plants that refuse to show sex without 12/12 have a very high likelihood of being intersex, in my experience, and you're better off culling them than risking discovering one sneaky, spent male flower at week 6.
