If i were to grow using 600watt globes in a flowering room a little smaller than 40meters ; how many bulbs would i need?

Hyperthetically speaking of course :)

40 meters??? try to get the room dimensions in feet...LxW=ft.sq
optimal light conditions are somewheres around 50w (of HID light) per square foot

thats what they all say...
good cover up

Well - let's see if i can manage the maths right....

600watt can cover 3.5 ft x 3.5 ft
in meters
600 watt can cover @1meter x 1meter so you'd need 40? yikes! that's a big f'ing room!

Are you sure about that? - i have read elsewhere that you can cover a 6.5 x 6.5ft area with a 600watt light.
ya, i am quite sure about this....
6.5'x6.5' = 42.25sq.ft
600/42.25=14.2w p/sq.ft
not enough my friend.....

that large of an area would not get enough light....might as well setup a couple hundred 4' flouros while ur at it.....

a 1000w hps will efficiently cover approx a area of about 5'X5' maybe abit more, depending on the footprint of your shade...

if ur setting up a large room, i would suggest just goin with 1000w bulbs....

Thanks.

But i don't think i have the ceiling height for 1000w bulbs.

Do i really need 10 feet for 1000watt bulbs?

I, myself only have 7' ceiling height, and i use a 1000w hps.
I lose a foot for the shade, another 2feet for the DWC bucket. That makes 4' growspace for the plants.
Just grow shorter plants and its easily do-able....

And whoever told you 10ft height was needed, was way outta wack.:blsmoke:
Ive heard, but cannot put into words right now, that 1000w penetrate only 4ft depth. Anything farther than that is pointless.

Thanks Kt0s.6o4. I really appreciate your advice.

I'm a beginner of course, and one of the things that is really throwing a spanner in the works for me is the use of meters AND feet when trying to get information - it gets confusing!

Anyway, I think that 100sq.feet is the floor space that i had in mind. Your advice on using 1000watt lights is interesting, and is something i will look into.

So basically, ..... i want to use a 100sq.ft to grow 100 plants - using no more than 6000watts, as i will be using a generator.......

Anymore advice is more than welcome :)

if your making a room that big, use 600ws, highest lumen output for less cash and it will be more efficient than the 1000 in the long run, especially when needing so many

You can do what you want of course but you might want to consider starting out a little smaller with your first grow or two - just to get the hang of it. Something to consider anyway.

i grow 8 plants with ease under 1 600w hps it all trial and error give them space dont cramp ,space them out remember light on leaves increases yileld,
