Just wondering.

And did you learn anything? If you had to do it over again, is there another candidate that tickled your fancy?

I was down for the man that everyone knew couldnt win, so most everyone didnt vote for him because most everyone knew he couldnt win. We all knew he couldnt win, it was all over the news everytime he was mentioned. Isnt it good we knew not to vote for the guy that could never win....sorry end-rant....

Also - is there anything at all that has shook your Obama-foundation? Or would you consider this a "Obama is the man for the job, I voted for and trust his judgement" type deal. Kind of a hands off approach.

that was a self fulfilling prophecy. But Im a guy who no matter what- I got Obama Hope - yes I do

i was an obama supporter and voter. still am.

he should have forced healthcare through back in February when he had a 72% approval rating. he thought there was going to be a new era of bipartisanship (fail). it looks like healthcare will pass, but it has taken too much time and effort.

i also don't like the business czars that he has retained from prior administrations. Geitner was a protege of the Reagan administration financial geniuses who caused the wall street crisis - Larry Sommers, Alan Greenspan and Robert Rubin. Sommers and Geitner are part of the obama team to this day. since we don't have any regulation to help prevent the next wall street disaster, i'm thinking these guys are the wrong guys for the job.

i support obama on iraq, afghanistan, gitmo, torture, israel, foreign relations in general. i'm glad i voted for obama.

Obama still has my vote for 2012 unless he does something to lose it or somebody better makes me change my mind.

No. 517: Negotiate health care reform in public sessions televised on C-SPAN

To achieve health care reform, "I'm going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We'll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies -- they'll get a seat at the table, they just won't be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process."

Given the choices at the time...still have to go with Obama. Disappointed in him though, had the chance for a year to get health care passed. Now he'll get noting done. I'd not be surprised if it was on purpose. I'd be surprised if he gets another term.

Actually, I can't believe he's still alive....... I was sure someone would knock off this guy. He'll surely be a one termer, and after healthcare passes- no other major legislation will pass the rest of his term. History's opinion will not be kind to his presidency....or the man.

Health care reform will be an abysmal mistake if passed.
Can anyone name one program of merit that the government runs that isn't broke?
Postal service?
The war on poverty?
Medicare?
Medicade?
Social Security?
Fanny?
Freddy?
Amtrak?
Cash for clunkers?

I will be one of the first to admit that health care in this country is seriously in need of repair, BUT do I think our Govt can do it with out fucking it up. HELL NO!

I wish you could tell that to my two neices who at 12 and 14, just lost their Mother after her 3rd battle with cancer.

Because my sister-in-laws job was hit with a 40% increase in health premiums, they were forced to scale back their amount of benefits, as opposed to not having any at all, As a result she obtained a policy with a 250,000$ LIFE TIME BENEFIT. Because of her previous battles with cancer, IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE INSURANCE FROM ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE OF AN INSURANCE TERM CALLED.....PREEXISTING CONDITION.

On April 26 2009, We were informed from the insurance company that benefits would not longer be paid and any financial support after xxxx date will be paid for by...you. Well except the problem was she sold her house, which was the familys sole asset and equity to cover "out of pocket" expenses co-pays 80/20s and ect.

Long story short, my sister died. She lost her life and things she worked for in her short life because SHE GOT SICK.

In the end I guess its an opinion of whether you believed Health Care is a Right......or a privledge.

Obamas Bill would have done the following in my sisters case.

Eliminate LIFETIME $$ LIMITS.
Eliminate PREEXISTING CONDITIONS to get insurance else where.
A PUBLIC OPTION, Would have saved her family from losing their HOME.

BTW, My mother who is a Navy Veteran, has fought cancer 3x with success! And guess what, SHE HAS GOVERNMENT VA INSURANCE. She received and continues to recevieves GREAT care from the government.

I'm truly sorry for your loss - I've had cancer visit my family in several variations. It is not easy & I feel your pain.
I do not feel that healthcare coverage is a privilege or a right - it is something I and my family have worked for all our lives.
And BTW I too am a recipient of VA medical care due to 24 years of service and sacrifice to my country. Its not the best, but it suffices.
Again, my respects to your Sister.

Obama is a dismal failure and utter disappointment. He lied thru his teeth to the younger generations who were foolish enough to buy his song and dance.
Now we will all pay...some of us more than others! That includes all of us here at RIU!
So- here a few more eye openers for you.
And the final rebuttal is at the END!
