the only lights i can get my hands on are some CFLs from lowes. except im not sure how many watts i should get. i was lookin at the 13 watt bulbs and i would use two of them to start 3 plants. would this work or would i have to use a higher wattage.
thanks

well i plan on moving them outside in a little bit but would two of those bulbs be enough to keep them growing for a week or two? or should i go bigger, if possible i would like to stay with those because they are only 10 bucks for 4 and higher wattage is 10 per bulb.

I do remember when i bought 4 ft. shop lamps they were dirt cheap! on sale at meijers. I walked mine home. I wouldn't be scared taking them home on the bus or anything. just not with bags of soil and supplies. if theres a will theres a way. if you can sneak the other stuff in and out you can do the lamps. not much more cost wise and more better saplings. also plant a lot more! some might not make it outdoors! get a light timmer and sex them before you plant to grow only female plants.

how long after the plant pops out of the soil can u sex the plants, because if its a long period of time i cant do that and will have to move all of them outside males and all.

it depends on height and shape more. there are nodes. they are places the top turns into. it is where the leafs grow off and the bud starts. the stem in between a node is called an internode. I would sex them probably around one internode after they get their first five leafs. probably about 8 '' or so.

The best indoor lighting I used was 26 watts per square foot for all year round. But i'm an outdoorsman, Remember to keep them close or they'll reach toward the light and die. HAPPY GROWING!
