theres debate that leaving the plants in darkness for 24-72hrs will increase thc production
try it with a few plants... maybe you'll be able to tell a difference and have a preference.

personally i don't find any difference between 24hr dark period and no dark period before chop.

good luck

Never tried it myself. But the hydro shop mentioned to lower the temp in the dark cycle for the last week to induce more thrichome production. Makes sense, but I've never tried it either.

Definately a dividing topic around here.
There was a study done by the MAPS institute that showed a increase in thc of almost 30% from giving plants 72 hours of darkness.
However I A/B-ed this myself a couple times and did not notice any difference.

Try for yourself, no harm. But chances are you will find, as I did, that it makes little, if any difference in the actual effect, appearance, weight or anything else about the bud.

Once I started chopping my girls in the last harvest I turned the lights off.
I trimmed for 3-4 days.
I noticed a slightly better buzz of the later cut plants.
But, this may also been an attribute of the fact that I cured the later buds for a month.

As far as visually there was little difference besides the water leaves drooping,
which made trimming more difficult!

I'd have to say a months cure would make immeasurably more difference than a few days in the dark.

I have an almost perfect photographic memory (not tryin to brag, getting to a point)... I have used a 72 hour dark period on 3 different plants of 3 different strain and they all looked almost exactly the same as when they went in, except when they cam e out they had hermies... that's all I've seen the long dark period do is hermies and mold... but uv treatment on the other hand work to facilitate extra resin production..

Yep.
I cut mine at the end of the 12 hour dark period just so the plant is a bit drier but, nothing beats getting them in the jar at the right time and leaving them there.
Last New Years we pulled out a half oz of paralyzer I had saved for almost 2 years in a small jar in the basement. So smooooth.
