how many SOG sized plants (1-2 feet) would you need to make about a pound a month???

your asking the a question with quite possibly the most varibles possible, what type of lights are you using, what strain of bud, what system u using (soil, DWC, hydro, aero) it is nearly impossible to anser that without first deciding thoughs factors.

Some honest advice,quit thinking about ways to make an easy buck & just be thankfull that the mj laws are finally getting lax enough where we can all enjoy a site such as RIU & learn from each other,be happy that your growing your own supply,give any extra away to friends ect,dont be an asshole & keep tyhinking about slinging dope,its a sucker move .

If you ever get to the point you grow a pound a month you will no longer be a wallflower to the police,you will be a huge blip on radar then its over.

Now for your question,in order to harvest a sog that yeilds a pound a month in soil you'd need a 10ft x 10ft room for budding that holds 32 plants,a smaller room dedicated for clones & mothers as well as vegging the next generation of 16 plants,one month veg time per crop then into the bud room & repeat the cycle every month.

You'd need 2,000 watts HPS lighting in the bud room then 600 watts HPS or MH lighting in the veg room,forget cfl's they will never work,for a fast producing heavy yeilding grow op you must have HID ,cfl's are ok for small grow's but in large scale like a perpetual sog they are tinker toy's at best.

You will aslo need about $1,500 to get this grow started for lighting,air circulatiuon,odor control & to add 2 dedicated 15 amp power lines to the grow op's,plus you'd need a basic understanding of electrical circutry to install the needed lines.

Like i said above it's a pipe dream my young friend & not very realistic,CFL's can grow some "decent" weed but for production you need HID & the other things i listed.

I don't think a pound a month is anyones "Pablo Escobar" fantasy.

You can easily get a pound off a 600-1000w single bulb grow. I doubt that puts you on any cops radar let alone as a "huge blip." Doing a perpetual of 8 trees (4 & 4) to harvest every month really isn't that big a deal in my opinion.

I agree with some of this but I think you could do it with less lighting. I think you would need 2 4x4 trays. 16 plants per tray and shoot for an ounce a plant. You could probably do more after you get the nutrients and technique figured out. Maybe even double. 1 oz. is a good place to start. 600w light per tray. Lumatek makes a dual ballast which would save you money. 2 ballasts for the price of 1 and a half. You would have to wire them 240v though.

You would probably need 2 moms to give you 8 clones every 2 weeks. Don't want to stress one too much. Use T5's for them. you can get them nice and bushy too; and keep them short. I'd say a 4' 6 lamp T5. DO 4 bloom spectrum bulbs and 2 flower spectrum bulbs. Will give you healthier moms and clones.

For your clones you won't need much more than some CFL's. Since you are going straight to flower and will be taking 20-24 clones (keeping the best 16) then I would say 4 low wattage CFL's will be fine. Clones don't need a ton of light.

If you are worried about your electrical draw for that room then you could run each flower table on a FLIP.

Good grow experience is key or good green thumb. lb a month is very possible done it myself when I wanted to shut down grow rooms for a few months. my advice if your looking for huge yields, make sure you have the time and patience to do it. its a hobby enjoy it don't get greedy :)
