Lots of factors have to be considered as to how must to expect from a plant .... how be a pot? outside or inside? If outside .... it depends on how big it gets .... you can get quite a bit outside .... inside how big will the pots be? The bigger the plant the more yield .... the plant's health has to be consider to or whether or not it produces seeds ...

.... you are in luck because there are tons of good info on growing for newbies .... this board is a wealth of information and I see a lot of growers have links to sites and videos in their sig .... plus there's good sticky stuff in this room.

Welcome to the growing world .... it is a very rewarding exprience. :blsmoke:

I am curious about this too. Let's say I have a well *very* well nurtured plant (I was gardening other things before), that grows to a height of say 3 feet (it is not done yet, but I feel like that is a fair guess or starting point). This is an outdoor grow with a plenty big pot (about 4 gal, I wanted to be SURE this thing had its space).

How much should I expect? Half? Ounce? What?

it depends on many factors. Some are light, heat, and how long you want the buds to grow. If you pick them before they are ready you will obviously get less. Make sure you let them grow and harvest when they are ripe.

I've seen a small plant produce an ounce no problem, but it was a professional setup, with hydroponic system and proper ventilations and lighting.

just depends, good luck with your grow.

I would say conditions as explained (3 feet seems short for an outdoor grow) you are gonna get more than an ounce IMO . This is assuming this outdoor plant will have a good amount of direct sunlight.

3 feet was just a guess, as I said it is not finished growing. My brother has been growing for years and he has never gotten a plant over 4 feet (all outdoors, but his pots were also tiny and I don't know how much he cared for his babies).

The plant(s) gets direct light from dust until dawn and are set in a nice compost/black soil mix (my brother uses it for his tomatoes, not sure what all is in it but it is chock full of nutrients and worms). I keep the soil moist and no animals bother them.

My fingers are crossed. I have even named them for luck.:blsmoke:

If I get a pound you guys will DEFINITELY be seeing some pictures.

Those plants are like children to me, if they yield that much, I will feel like they got a full ride to Harvard.

from what im asking my friends and from the many growers here, i should wait till it gets about 4 feet? i will be growing indoors, and using almost an exact replica of JethroTull's rubbermaid growbox (very good idea jethro, kudos to you)i will also be using scott's potting soil and a scotts fertilizer that was recommended to my by a friend. hopefully i can grow 3-4 plants.

how much do you think one harvest will yeild. thanks for the responses thus far and im really glad to see that everyone is so friendly. thanks again.

I can't tell you about the harvest (obviously) but I have heard this: be VERY careful with your fertilizer, stuff like Miracle Grow fries marijuana plants like bacon.

I am really surprised about how mature and positive everyone is here, it is really a great environment. I hope to see you around LZ.
