How often should I flodd my trays?

I have checked this site for info on how often to flood my trays, but I have not found a definative answer/solution. If there is something I have missed, please direct me to the proper thread/forum - this is only my second post.

I have successfully harvested a closet grow a few years ago using a 2x3 ebb & flow system, but I completely forgot the flooding/watering schedule! Argh!!!

My plants will be sitting in 4"x4" rockwool cubes, 12 per garden. I am hoping to have my little baby girls started in my vegg garden in about 10 days.

My Vegg garden is a 2x3 (by Turbogarden). I am using a 400w MH Hortilux housed in a Day Star reflector for the lighting, a Can Fan RS4HO for ventilation, and a 6" oscillating fan for a breeze. My plants will vegg 24hrs per day!

My Flowering garden is a 3x3 (by American Hydo). I am using a 600w HPS housed in a ValueBrite reflector for lighting, a Can Fan RS6+ Can Filter 33 for ventilation, and a 6" oscillating fan for a breeze.

Any information you can provide me will be greatly apprecoated by both myself, and all the registered medical patients my gardens will provide relief for.

with rockwool you will need to flood once a day. maybe twice if you've got heat. at least untill the roots get loose. then, depending on the root mass exposed......well, you will have to ask your plant about that.

I also use 4x4's and flood them only once a day for 20 minutes or so.
It is easy to over water rockwool cubes. This will cause rootrot and will be attractive to fungus gnats.
As long as the roots are white and fuzzy your cool, if they are getting brown and mushy, they're too wet.

Awesome - I really appreciate the info.

I got a pair of standard size Homeboxes an put them together last night, and placed each system's parts in it's tent. I get my fans & filter early next week... I am so close to starting my crops I cannot wait!.

I am going to be documenting my grow, so feel free to provide me input & guidance.

I flood 3 times a day at 12/12 and 4 times a day at 18/6 .rockwool cubes are designed so you cant over water rockwool cubes, once your plants get bigger and you water once a day you will kill them.when i first started and my plants were 18 inches-2 feet high i tried flooding twice a day and i almost killed them .but then again im using 1000 watts hps.

I always use 1 inch starter rockwool and then in my flood and drian setups move into 4 inch cubes that when rooted get put into rockwool slabs in the table then completely covered with hydroten pebbles. Then I like to flood 4 times a aday under 18/6 lights for abouyt 10-15 minutes each flood and then 2 times for 10 minutes under 12/12. My aero setup I run 24 hour water

Thanks for the replies. I found my notes from my last grow (long time ago).

I watered the vegging plants 4 times a day with 20 minute floods. The light (400 MH) was on 24/7. The flowering plants were watered 3 times a day with 20 minutes floods. The light (1000w HPS) was on 12/12. I had poor ventilation at the time, so it was hot and sticky (humid) in the closet... and on the walls : )

The strain was Special K. I had 12 plants in a 2x3, and after manicure, drying, and curing, I had over 1lb (18oz) of great smoke. I am hoping my new gardens turn out some good flower.
