How to get Autoflowering?

Hi,i curious if i cross Lowryder x Automatic AK-47? Do i get autoflowering hybrid or i get a simple hybrid? I want to get autoflowering hybrid. Can somebody answer?

an F2 cross is likely to produce unstable results. Some will be autoflowering some will not. If you continue to breed the autoflowering ones, chossing only the autoflowing individuals, you could produce a true breeding strain after atleast 7 generations, only problem here is your plant probably wont have the hybrid vigor it once posessed. You could Back cross your F2 generation to the mother , and take the resulting seeds and cross it again to the mother, every time you do this the % of the mothers genetics increases.

If you could find pure ruderalis seeds, they are true breeding and autoflowering, although rather unpotent, you could make your own ruderalis cross potentially resulting in something rather nice, and autoflowering. your cross wont be true breeding, but you will have both the mother and father to produce auto flowering seeds.

Im not sure whether mother or father ruderalis better pass on the autoflowering trait. I doubt that they would want to go that far into revealing their secrets.

Unfortunately, the mother will be dead by the time these future generations are ready to plant. Remember, these are auto-flowering plants that cannot be kept as mothers.

With auto's you'll have to make careful decisions as to which can breed every generation. I imagine you'll need to work with a very large breeding pool.

:) ya got me.

I guess the next best thing would be an identical pheno from the mother seed stock.

i guess they use a new ruderalis plant each time with the same indica mother. am i right?

I dunno, seems like you'd get a lot of unstable genetics that way.

I'd cross breed with strict control, selecting the best male from the whole group and manually fertilizing lower buds on all females. Harvest + smoke test determines which seeds from the next batches are germinated for the next generation.

Could definitely re-cross with non-auto mother's to isolate/stabilize more genetics though.

You can store male pollen in cool dark places for long periods of time.

Because of this they can find one good rudaralis male and collect LOTS of pollen from it, like as much male pollen as they can cause they won't have a shot at the exact same genetic makeup.

This poses a difficulty with breeding autoflowering strains, due to how you go about finding a good dad. You must gather pollen from individual males and store each males pollen individually. Use this pollen to do a test cross with mother and grow the test seeds -> the best from the test is the bag of male pollen that is kept for the breeding project and all the rest is discarded (yes you must grow out 100's of males, gather pollen individually just to throw most of it away).

so to produce stable and solid autoflowering genentics like lowryder, you have to have a lot of space and time combined with a solid know how of plant breeding...

if you want to breed using Autoflowering strains and usaly the males flower sooner then the females you could harvest the pollin and use it on the other plants
