How to make wild lettuce extract

Hello, i was wondering how i could make a solid wild opium/lettuce extract that can be smoked. Ive i am to take it from a fresh plant, should i use the whole plant or the leaves? And could i just smoke the leaves?

The opiate like alkaloid you are after is in the latex. {that nasty white sap that leaks out of the stem} The 'poor mans opium" peaks out when the lettuce goes to seed. {not terribly unlike some of our other favorite plants do}

I have heard anecdotal evidence that Romaine lettuce is quite good, if it goes to seed and reverts back to what it was before hybridizng. Or you could do the highway department a huge favor and harvest the wild lettuce from a mile or so of highway.

Probably what I would do is chop it with a meat cleaver, and squish it with one of those canning cone squeezer things.

Another possibility is the Mrs Stewarts Blueing compound magic crystal garden {Mrs Stewwarts is found in the laundery aisle at grocery stores} . Basically you would chop it fine, simmer it in hot water, add MRs Stewarts, put the strained mixture ina bucket with a concrete block. The alkali would leach up through the concrete block, and deposit on the surface as efflorescence. I am not kidding, or pulling your leg... this is one method I would actually try IF I had any interest in extracting Lettuce Opium.
