How to talk about Cannabis around people who dont smoke

What ever government or corporate entity who brainwashed a percentage of the population needs to be overturned.

Im an athlete (USA Bong Team) whom uses Cannabis to better my life and those around me. However there is a percentage of Americans who think that Marijuana is a kin to smoking crack, injecting heroin, or blowing rails of cocaine. I generally don't speak to these people because they are idiots, unfortunately some are family and people I have to speak to on a day to day basis.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to open up a conversation with these types of people toward a more objective perspective?

Parents are one of the main issues, hot girls dont work on them. Everything revolves around their kid going to Harvard or what ever...
Im not actually on the Bong team, but training for it...

I have to agree with charface. Giving drugs, even weed to children is not cool. Telling other people to give weed to their children is dumb. Trying to get other parents to give their children drugs only works if your a doctor with "Real" medication.

What about Penicillin? And when did I say I was telling other people to have their kids smoke weed? What are you smoking.

Im asking people how to talk to others about weed, not hide it under the carpet like Im a crack head. Talking about weed is not necessary trying to convert them, its opening a dialogue.
Hiding it is not how you legalize it, thats why its been illegal for so long.

Simply tell them that you do and leave it at that. If not simply don’t tell them. My family is all from the south they know what I do and the reasons behind it. It’s not that big of a deal.

I would suggest making any conversation you have as intelligent as possible. Avoid referencing the US bong team, or stereotypical stoner stuff. Call the plant by its name and show it respect. Its a Cannabis plant, not marijuana, and definitely not dope! Know your history and science to be able to have an intelligent conversation.

Be respectful of them, and request them to be respectful of you.

Thanks, I ment to say I was a athlete (runner) but people sound so pretentious I made that up about the bong team as I was amongst stoners. Calling it Cannabis rather then Marijuana is a great idea, how my doc refers to it. And yes be serious and informed. Here are some things I think need to be talked about by both sides.
1) Driving and testing for Cannabis
2) State Vs Federal Law
3) Medical Marijuana (I didnt make that up) and how it pertains to people who really do need it
4) The benefits and negative aspects of it in real world setting
5) Ratification of current gun laws in regards to Marijuana (that is a big one but necessary as if its legal there will be a conflict)

Weather people want to talk about it or not it needs to be as these are unresolved issues that need to be addressed. Its good to show others respect however its not always reciprocated. In many peoples eyes those who smoke pot are 2nd class citizens.

i just inform people of the facts, then tell them to kindly mind their own business.....or else we can start to dissect their habits and hobbies.....
if they want to have a meaningful conversation, i'm happy to participate....if they're trying to tell me why i shouldn't use cannabis, i just tell them quickly and politely that they're wasting their time and mine, too, and i don't appreciate it. i've put way more study into it than any of them has, i know the risks better than they ever will, and i've made my choices based on that information, not on what you've heard here and there....

I never liked The term marijuana . Not just because I can never remember how to spell it.:eyesmoke:
I don't correct non smokers much because they won't get it. But I try to correct smokers when they say it. We need to promote cannabis and stop using these fake words that literally were created out of racism and hate.
