Hps 600w too much heat

I have just added a hps 600w in with my two LEDs at either side of it but it is heating my tent up to 27/28 degrees Celsius what is the maximum heat for a grow space ? I have an oscillating fan in there and I made a duct with another oscillating fan on the outside of the room to blow cool air into the tent but it is still climbing the heat . Also how far away from the canopy should I have the hps . I should of got a cool tube :(

Those temps are on the high end, but really not too high. You should be worried about leaf surface temp, not necessarily ambient. HPS should be at least 24 inches from the canopy (looks fine right now tbh), LEDs you could run closer at an angle for better penetration during flower. I would save on power and shut them off during veg, all you're gonna do is give yourself ridiculous dense internodals if you light that much in veg, which is cool in like a spacebucket but really fucks with your end product in a tent grow.

Thanks mate when you say dense internodes did you mean like more and more smaller branches inbetween like on these pics and does this mean more branches for bud to grow on ? I am thinking to l.s.t some of them but do you think it is too early at 23 days old ? The hps heat does not stop climbing ! The top of my leaves are not warm though if that's what leaf temp is .

You should be good for LST at this point, at least one tie down to get things started. I usually waited longer when my space was small enough to justify LST, but your plants are pretty packed in there so if you want to turn em sideways now is probably not a bad time.

I like to give a little less light during veg to stretch the plant out a little bit. This gives you a more "open" plant when you switch to flower and allows good buds to form because light can reach farther past the canopy. You want to plant density to consist of buds, not leaves, and a slightly less dense plant during veg is going give you a lot of space to grow big buds once you flip.

Sounds like you might want to invest in a cool tube. Turning off the LEDs should help for now.
