Alright guys it's time for me to buy an HPS ...only 100watt.

problem= im not electrically inclined, my uncle is but can't do it b/c of his pace-maker (he's a general contractor and his son's a police officer.....yes my cousin is a cop...LOL:dunce: BUT MY COUSIN WOULDN'T CARE.......IT'S JUST THAT HE IS TOO BUSY W/ BEING A COP AND RUNNING HIS CONTRACTING BIZ.

so my point is i don't know how to install a hps...like capping the wires and all. They do have 1's w/ a male plug.

problem 2= now my uncle said that it will pull a lot of current so i would need to get a nice ,thick, short extention cord. why? b/c he said if the cord is TOO LONG it makes the HPS work harder trying to pull more current.... the shorter the better....LIKE AN Air Conditioner Cord.

:wall: i can buy it right now....but don't know what exactly i should do.

Does any see a great danger in doing it by plugging it in?
MIND U I HAVE 5 42WATT & 1 25WATT + 3 FANS + AN AIR PURIFIER plugged into a surge protector. But my uncle said if something happens w/ the hps the surge protector wouldn't help.

he said that could be done.....but i want to hear from the forum and if anyone had a similiar experience.

thanx in advance.......................joey:?:

Mine just has a normal grounded plug. you have to hang it but even i was able to do that and i am a 115 pound woman. doesn't sound too worrisome to me.

Looks like a flood light setup. detroitchaos has a very good point. Google hps grow lights and go from there. You seem to making this a lot harder than it has to be.

LOL!! go out, buy an enclosed ballast 250 watt system, and then in a year you'll want to upgrade :)

joey555 from your video it doesn't look like you have a lot of space, but you might want to consider what smokebros is saying.

What is your goal? How much are you trying to yield? A lot of us have made the mistake of not planning properly ahead of time. We end up with a 150 watt light, two 400's because that's for sure as big as we wanted to get....before you know it, you have wasted a lot of money by the time you end up with your final setup.

So make sure you think everything through and plan ahead. It will save you money and stress.

lol....i remember TONY asked why i bite my finger nails= hahaa bad nerves did it since i was a child. i believe u r all right. To ur point Gopher.... im just new to hid's in generl.

detroitchaos = i agree sounds much easier and thats exactly the kind of thing i wanted.....i just didn't want to start a fire....the way my uncle was explaining it i got worried.

Maryjane.....u and the rest i mentioned seem to be talking about what i want....just something to plug in.

@ Jesse, well it's my 1st grow so idk.....i don't expect to yield much. i have over 50 seeds. couple really good ones...which i think i might hve told u or kevin that im waiting to see how well i do before i sow good quality seeds.

I just want you to think about it. For the future.

Assume you are successful and learn how to grow. How much are you gonna want realistically? How much is worth risking to have? For me, I do medical, so I just follow the rules and I am good, no real risk in this political climate in my state.

See what I am saying bro?
