Man I am so torn. I've seen a lot of good reviews of HSO gear and every single pic I've seen seems super dank. On the other hand, if they are going to be shady about their genetics and be, argueable, misleading with strain names, then do the ends justify the means? Is a rose by any othe name...?

I'm actually looking looking at their "version" of bubba kush and can't find too much about it. Anyone have any experience with that one?

The distaste I feel for their business practices means I will never grow their gear. That said I am fairly convinced I have the "real" Blue Dream cut and I've watched a lot of grows of their Blue Dream and I would say it is probably legit. Once I've grown out a large sample of the S1s I'm making I'll be able to say better. I just got my STS chems so that will be a little while.
I can't speak for any of their other strains because I haven't run any of the clone versions, but their shit does seem dank. Overpriced for S1s of famous clones but there is a market for it I guess. I don't consider making S1s or crossing two elite clones that you had no hand in creating or selecting breeding, it's seed making.

I feel the same exact way. Still not sure on them, haven't really seen bad reviews. But like Duck said, seems they are just seed making. I have a couple of the Bubba Kush REG seeds from a freebie a few months back, was looking for info as well.

I'm curious how someone could get a reg seed of Bubba Kush seeing as it's a clone.

I too have seen all the bashing and understand where its coming from, but out of curiosity when I received their pineapple skunk as a freebie I also picked up their sour blueberry. They both had been sitting in the tin since January and I threw them in a wet paper towel the other day. By halfway through the second day both seeds had popped and showing root tip. I planted them about a week and a half ago and one broke soil by the next morning the other the following morning. I've heard good reviews on the pineapple skunk but next to nothing on the sour blueberry. I've been wanting to find a smoke report or cured pics or anything for that matter. The genetics they described for it where no help lol it just says they crossed one of there sour indicas with a favorite blueberry.. who knows but I may do a journal when they get a little size to them.

I have their PS in 12/12 atm wouldn't be able to give you its info on patterns of growth since no vegetation was involved. But the meristem smells skunky that's all I can contribute atm.

heres the thing. i have been seeing mostly indica dom BD, BUT i have seen about a half dozen with that super stretchy sativa blue dream clone only. its searching for the pheno, thats not common. just like ANY spectacular strains, the really good ones...are hard to find. so its not just slapping a name on it.
the blue dream clone only is SS haze x blueberry...and so is HSO's. its still a blue dream, but the lazy people out there arent willing to search for the sativa pheno, if thats what theyre looking for. IMO, i want the super fat heavy yielding indica dom blue dream. its not completely couchlock indica. its an energetic head high, that opens up ones bronchial tubes, with a relaxing side to it.

as for trainwreck...yes we all know it STARTED as a sat dom, but almost EVERY seed company out there has an indica dom trainwreck as well. theres very few with original sativa traits, just like the original skunk #1 was sativa dom, but over the years people have been breeding and selecting indica dom phenos.

so its not "name slapping" as their BD is a SShaze x blueberry, their OGK is Fire OG x emerald OG, and their chemdawg is actually the chem #4 cut. its more to do with lazy people not willing to search for the phenos they want, but complaining about the breeder. if people want diff phenos...LOOK FOR THEM
the real deal blue dream from SD, and san jose area is sativa dominant, i do like HSO but their blue dream is far far far from legit BD . just saying . good for what it is and a nice smoke. but its not the same as the clone only cut. have seen side by side comparisons. perhaps there is that sativa pheno somewhere , but even the pics i saw posted dont look like the sativa dom blue dream I remember, still more indica. Im talking the blue dream from all jorges 2011 2012 humboldt info-vids. not hating at all. I come from a land where most dont grow and those who do Grow fuckin' reggie. those days are gone. just hope HSO doesnt turn into a company that is more in it for money. namste:peace:

Most breeders, even prominent ones. Usually don't actually know (for sure) what the genetics are they have. Most of the time, people can't even agree on which cutting is which cutting circulating around... So, it probably matter doesn't what they call it. Also a lot of genetics are polyhybrids with numerous phenos... So, 10 people might get 10 seeds each, and think they all have a different strain...

As I recall it was Dankmaster and I wanna say Chimera, but I think it was actually another breeder... Well anyway, both these guys got cuts of the legendary G13... Now G13, if you don't know was the super potent mystery strain, supposedly developed and hidden by the US government. However, the problem was, that these 2 cuttings, were pretty much the exact opposite of each other... So after months of arguing all over the place. Both cutting holders, decided to agree that they both had G13 cuts. Even though they were nothing alike...

HSO has got me hooked there sour desiel is off the hook good. My Blue dream from them was a little weak compared to the Sour D. I just popped trainwrek and chemdog. they really look good.

I have what I would bet is the legit BD cut (looks extremely sativa dominant, finishes fast but has an almost eternal harvest window, yields huge, smells like a pine forest with berry bushes scattered throughout, functional up buzz that is tremendous for pain, very potent and great resin production) and from watching a lot of HSO BD grows I would say that about 1/4 of the plants are phenotypically similar to my cut based on pics. That's not surprising for S1s, but people act like HSO is amazing because they managed to get some good cuts and femmed them. Making S1s from someone else's cut isn't breeding.
I'm pretty sure they didn't turn into a company just in it for the money, they started as one.
Also the reason S1s have so many phenos that don't look like the cut is they're usually polyhybrids so selfing them is like making F2s from F2s, you can stablize them with work but who wants to do work when you can charge $10+/bean for a bean that took you no work to make?
People like the people who make up this group are what's wrong in the Emerald Triangle these days.

I freely admit that I loathe their business practices. I'm an anti social recluse on the other side of the country and manage to get clones so it's certainly doable.

Why cause they are in the business to make money. fukin bastards..LOL. Well good for u you got some clones yeah. I live in a non MMJ state so I can't get any clones. What now.? I gotta buy seeds and I sure ain't buyin regs. I'm glad they femmed these strain so I don't have to take a risk on a male....

That sour blueberry looks amazing, the only thing I have noticed about both hso strains I am running right now is the stems are not nearly as strong. They are actully very weak in comparison to 99% of the strains I've ran at the same age. The stems are just small.
