PSUAGRO. I'm a little shocked. You resort to comments like that without even sending me an email. I can see why Cammie sometimes resorts to name calling!! I'm trying my best to stay above that but come on!!

these are pictures of my prototype. as you can see, the elves didn't put my logo on yet. They didn't do that until I seen the light actually working, then I decided to register the business and put this into production.

hey good to go, I have been wanting to do the same thing for a while, I just don't have the money!!(buy shit load of cheap LED and put a sticker on it) I like the name you chose. One thing though is you couldnt get your head wrapped around spending that kind of money for LEDs so you started your company? where that money came from all of a sudden for a technology you had never tried? and now you are selling them for even more money than the average company... looking at the light, it seems obvious to me than most of the work was made in China.

So where are all the pics of your light growing cannabis? You do realize pics of vegetables wont cut it here, right? What are the tech specs on your flowering and vegging lights like, ie, number brand and bin of diodes and how many watts each operates at, wavelengths used, total power consumption, how many and what kind of fans and drivers, etc. etc.

This is the kind of stuff that stops me from wanting to try new things, especially expensive new things. It seems everyone is throwing their hats into the LED market, and there's a lot more bad out there than good. If nothing else, buy American with a long warranty. After that, it's every man for themselves. Personally, I won't even consider them anymore until they install smart meters in my area!

While they've acted rather shittily, i am left wondering why you refused a free upgrade of an item they did have in stock?

I have to say though, i always get highly entertained when people start raging because they didn't read a companies policies prior to using them

Wow. Again. I'm sorry, for your ignorance, but allow me to explain.
1. When I said I don't have the money, I meant I don't have $1500 dollars to drop on a single grow light.
2. Cheap LEDs... I pm'd PSUAGRO, just saying instead of coming up with some negative comment because you think its bs, why not stop and ask a couple questions. It will be of further benefit.
The technology that you are calling is cheap, comes from the US. The LEDs and the Drivers, both come from USA, so forgive me for choosing to by cheap.
If you must know, these same LEDs were used in the worlds largest vertical farm.... http://vimeo.com/31257744
And finally. The fixtures housing is purchased from China, it is not cheap, but again, who am I, according to you guys.
Ugh, Frustrating... I dont have many lights right now, I don't have the money to buy lots because they are expensive!! you wanna know how many I have right now? 12! like I said, I don't have a large profit margin on these. I am trying to keep my costs down, so that people like you, and me, can afford to use these lights. If you were going to go build a light like this, it would cost you much more than you would pay buying from me. And I'm building a light that I believe uses the best technology that is available to us.

All I'm asking is take a look. and don't talk smack.

Thanks TT. Good thought! I want to make sure people don't get ripped off by them like I did. Here is their response after I told them I would bash them online since they were such pricks;)

Dear John,

You do realize that bythreatening to bash us the only person who is attempting any sort of"crook" behavior is yourself (it's called libel)? We havepolicies in place on our site and it is the consumers responsibility to READthem. Now you are getting irate towards our company, towards myemployees, and threatening us simply because you failed to read our policiesbefore brashly deciding to cancel your order? I have spoken with Vinceand he told me he offered you a FREE upgrade to a 126X light, which is$100 more expensive than the model you ordered and covers a larger area. He also offered you a $100 discount on the 126X-PRO should you wish to upgradeto that light (both of which are in stock) and you decided against eitheroption. Now you want to call us crooks when we offered you a freeupgrade, gave you the option to upgrade even further for a discount, and onlywhen you decided against it we refunded you as per your request, according toour published policies that you failed to read? Again, how is anythingwe've done wrong?

Had you waited for your84X-PRO regardless of the wait time (and our policies say it can take up to 3weeks to ship depending on if it's in stock or not), you could have returned itas per our 90-day return policy. Instead you chose to cancel of whichthere is a re-stocking fee, since we pay to produce your light regardless of ifits stocked or not. While I understand your frustration, you haveabsolutely no right nor bearing to bash our company online when we've doneeverything in our power to resolve this situation with you by means of anupgrade and/or discount. You still have the option to call in and changeyour order to another light, in which case the re-stocking fee you were chargedwould be re-applied to that purchase. We're not in business to takeanyone's money, we're simply not in business to lose business. We're inbusiness to sell and ship lights. If you want a light, let me know.

FUCK THESE GUYS!!!!!

Sincerely,

Cammie Mckenzie

President, Hydro GrowLED

"We're inbusiness to sell and ship lights." - kind of hard to do when you don't have any lights in stock to sell/ship. I am currently looking a purchasing 2 LED's for my grow and I just crossed HydroGrow LED OFF my list. If you can give him a free upgrade for $100 you can give him his full refund. You lost 100x more money than you would have lost by doing the right thing.

awesome, thank you squarepush3r and puffenuff. The LED's that I use are actually manufactured and patented by ILLUMITEX.
GROWFUNK PPFD & SPECTRA.jpghere are the manufacturer specs of each LED module.
The V16 Series is for veg, and contains 16 LED modules. 50 degree beam angle. Each LED draws 5.83 watts. Panel, with 4 fans on top, draws approx 110 watts.
The F16 Series is for flower, and contains 16 LED modules. 50 degree beam angle. Each LED draws 5.3 watts. Panel, with 4 fans on top, draws approx 100 watts.
The FX16 Series hasnt been manufactured yet, but will contain 25 LEDs in the same fixture, and also have UVB LEDs. But as our company is new, this will come out 2-3qtr.

Quick money from the MJ community? Give your head a shake. If you want to hate, hate on the people who destroy houses with their huge grow ops. They are the ones who only want quick money from the MJ community!! Yes there are companies that do raise profit margins because of the industry. But there are also ones that don't. YOU KNOW THIS!

It's funny how businesses fall back on the claim "it's our written policy"..... like that makes it ok. It about running a business fairly and honestly, and offering merchandise at a reasonable price. The attempted cancellation cost the business nearly zero but they feel compelled to charge the customer an outrageous amount to back out buying a light that will take a month to receive. If I was the customer, I'd go on every pot forum I could find (contact me, I got a big list) and post your complaint and the businesses poor response. Hit them where it hurts most- the pocket book.

Lastly, it's the principle of the thing. I would have refused the upgrade too. If they treat their potential customers that way- can you imagine how they'll treat you after they have your money!!!!

Lol, i guess you don't understand how businesses work then  they have policies for a reason. You don't know the first thing about their business or how their operation is really setup, so who're you to state they are being fair or dishonest? You

And where on earth has the notion of them being dishonest come from? Their policy is there, everythings they've done has been by their book which is the only book required, it's hteir business. `

As with any company in the wrld, if you don't like their policies, don't use them, don't start bitching because you didn't think it worth your time to read their policies. They post them on their site for a VERY good reason.

I never said they were dishonest. I said their policies stink and are unfair. How does a company justify charging a large fee like that to cancel an order. So I guess under your premise, if the business was to charge $500 for the cancellation, it's ok because it was in the policy. It's not about policy, it's about fairness.

And, you're a fool. I'm retired, and over my working career I owned 4 different successful businesses. And I would have never thought to take advantage of my customers like this company is....... but I guess I just don't understand how businesses work like you do genius.

Then why did you say "fairly and honesty". They are being perfectly honest. That's why they have their policies for any buyer to read ;)

And no, running a business is about profit, they can be as "unfair" as they like so long as they make their trade :D Noone forced the buyer to use that company if they deemed those policies unfair. It's no different than all the little children bitching because attitude wouldn't refund their seeds after they emailed complaining that they didn't germinate  If they were taking advantage of the customer, they woudldn't put their policies out in the open explainaing that this is how it works. Again, noone forced the person to use that compnay :D

It's not about fairness, it's about profit. If by being "fair" the business loses money and goes out of company, lol, yeah, that seems like the real smart way to run a business. No, chances are they have their policy about re-stock there for a reason ;) You have no idea what kind of margins these people work on, you don't know their business model, you don't know the details of the companies contract with their manufaturers are. You just make asusnptions and figure they're being unfair thouhg

I think you are both right. Customers shouldnt complain if they didnt read the policy. If you read the policy and decide it's unfair, then you wont buy from them and there wont be an issue. Is the policy unfair in the eyes of some, sure. I also think that not everything you read should or can be trusted online. Do we know exactly what happened here, do we know exactly what the history of hgl and its owner is? No, we've only just heard rumors, gossip, half facts, and heresay. The rule of thumb when making a large investment is to have interaction with the company and sales team before making the purchase so that you can feel confident and comfortable with your purchase. Im pretty sure hgl has many more satisfied customers than pissed off ones. My only gripe with them is their prices.

I have dealt with companies that are great for three or four shipments, then at the first error (errors ARE unavoidable) the take a crap on me. I won't mention drsfostersmith by name, but after buying 70 fluorescents from them, they would not exchange a misshipment of ten bulbs.

HGL got researched before I gave them money for five of their 336X-PRO's.

Darn if one of the units didn't have a pair of arrays fail less than two weeks in. Now we shall see, I called them and talked to a sales rep.
He told me to take a picture and email it. I did so and he emailled instructions on how to test the power supplies. They were good.

Two days ago UPS gave me shipping notice from HGL, the new LED assemblies are on the way.
Meanwhile the 14 assemblies that were still functioning are still functioning above my plants while this is going on. How can warranty service get better than this?

I smell bigotry in the complaints.

I did research on the worst accusation. Police did get called, they were sent to UPS as the customer claimed UPS stole the light he returned and he was entitled to a refund anyway. UPS never received the package from him, this was confirmed and the police involvement stopped there.

Bigotry stinks.

Maybe you should do some MORE research on "Cammie Mckenzie" (google this).... Read that nice and long detailed history on THC F@rmer and come back and rethink/maybe rewrite your last comment.........

Sorry but I can't stand thieves and liars......he/she fits the bill.......:fire:
