Hydrosoil grow might have a issue what should people watch out for?

Hello now I know I have done a few runs about 3 with this type of blend it is my 4th say run at it I use a 50/50 mix of soil and coco now what I was wondering is if there is anything major that I should watch out for.

I tested my ppm of the run off on 2 plants around a month or so into veg and one read at 1400 and the other was at 2500 I have one in a 15 gallon smart pot which read the 1400 and another in a 10 gallon black plastic pot which read 2500. The one in the plastic pot is older then the smart pot one.

I am not sure if I should even be concerned as I have never looked into buildup or checking runoff this is my first time trying the tds meter I picked up a year ago I had been reading about salt buildup while using coco recently so I decided to look into it.

I mean they seem healthy no burnt tips green and all the only thing I noticed is a big fan leaf or 2 on each one appeared slightly curled up at the edges.

I have been using fox farm nutes with some root which I always add to the water first like the instructions say. now I know these nutes aren't the best choice for the type of grow but it was some of what was left from last time I figured no sense in wasting almost full bottles letting them sit around and go bad.

Anyways I gave each plant a decent flushing 3 days ago I poured 10 gallons between both plants I retested the runoff in the saucers and the plant that read 1400 appeared down to 925 ppm and the other was around 1700 like I said I don't know for sure if I even have a problem maybe I am just being over worried.

Also after giving them all of that water it seems like they are still pretty moist after 3 days should I be concerned about this or should I just water like I would or do I need to let the pots dry almost all of the way before I even think about watering again?

I have herd a few people say they water with atleast gallon just about everyday so I am unsure. I recently purchased a new nutrient line and I was planning to try and feed I mixed up a 5 gallon bucket but like I said they still feel moist why does it are they not drinking enough.

Also if I have a buildup problem still I would not want to add to it any ideas or tips would be appreciated as I am still learning.

The plastic container plant I can see roots already at the drainage holes at the bottom

I want these ladys to yield well and be nice and strong .

Also I should mention that I live in a colder climate northeast

what should people watch out for?

Growers who judge the performance of their plants by reading adjusting the potential hydrogen in their soil mix

as soil is in constant flux, you can never get an accurate reading, even with a TDS meter

learn to operate without this crutch is vital to any future performance on your part

as you are in a cold climate avoid over watering, that can lead to root rot

lift the pot b4 watering and think!

perhaps heat you inlet air a small bulb does well

recognize ideal mold situations and act fast

use of neem oil is good

good luck

ya thanks man. everything is going good for me I shouldn't even worry a small change isn't a big one I don't have a issue with mold at this time the air is usualy drier at this time of the year starting to warm up here and there and get some rain but I have way to control my humidity so I am not too worried.

Also I have a soil water meter thing so I can test that way if I wanted to really know water content I just pick up the pots and when they feel almost feather light I hit em with 2-3 gallons get some run off keep sucking it out and call it good, some guys like to put a gallon to em each day.

Also as far as the neem oil I donot have the triple action kind I have just the reg dynagrow which I have herd is not good for much I guess the other stuff can help with pests I don't really know I never messed with neem much plus it has this funny smell.

The azmax tried it on mites once and it does seem like it helps however I have killed whole plants using the stuff.

if one or plants has a bad infestation and you have say 12 id just chuck em burn em in the fire pit so the rest don't get so bad and you can atleast get threw with those and harvest.

I have found that some plants in a garden spider mites love more then others and can mate like crazy but with others they don't like them so much .

I know some strains tolerate mold and pests more then others but I also think that sometimes a different pheno of the same strain will appear to have less of an infestation I would like research this.

What I was seeing was scary because I noticed my runoff one time was alil dark dark brown then I also had noticed those high numbers on the meter.

Those readings I saw could have came from what was kicked up in the tray mixed with the run off and could have been lower. I actually cleaned the catch pans all off good then tested some runoff and it was a lot lower however that could have just been due to the fact I ran plain water through.

either way on a aggressive vegging plant the numbers I provided don't seem all that high according to a lot of growers.

One thing I noticed is a og kush plant I got going does not look that great I don't know what the deal is with it maybe it likes a certain ph or very little nutes I have no idea
