That's sad
If it is such a great prop. Then one should not worry about a person saying they won't support it.
I could see this happening in North Korea or Cuba but in America ?
It really is true, Those who control the news, control the views. I have no respect for people who do not allow other people's opionons to be voiced, specially on a public site like rollitup
I am guessing it is owned by one person but this is still a public forum
Man America aint no more free than fucking Venezeula....or Cuba, or North Korea for that matter...Wanna see, go start talking shit about certain people and certain things on social media and see how fast they come and collect your ass....Its appears to be free, but those appearances are so faulty...

I think from a pest and disease point of view, this is a really good thing.
very interesting point, but I am not sure it would make a difference with spider mites... I guess the plants stayed healthy to the end, the top 6 inches was super dry, but 6 inches down it was moist, and quite wet at the one foot mark. All in all, I am blown away, Ive got 3 on the go now, each have roughly, 15 gallons reservoir and 20+ gallons of super soil/compost/worm castings and mulch on top. The best mulch to use under the plastic is probably a mix of hay, oyster shell, and mostly comfrey. Let me know if you come up with better mulch but I am guessing those 3 ingredients make good food for the worms. BTW, the mulch was ALL GONE at harvest, when I peeled the plastic, all I could see was promix.

Oh I doubt those evil spawn of satan would care one way or another. I was thinking specifically of fungus gnats, and any diseases that transfered from leaf to soil contact, especially in outdoor grows.

I think the smooth gradient from wet to dry helps keep the root zone oxygenated, as well.

Well, Hyroot is missed, with SG.....still haven't quite grokked IG...yet....

BTW: One thing regarding RO water that might support Fats method of use:
the amount of water waster is much less when the reservoir starts to be filled.
There is less back pressure, I am sure. The idea is that if you just take a few
cups off the top and then let the system refill the reservoir, then the system will
be wasting max water. You want to drain the reservoir into some other container.

Just a thought.

bumping the thread Hyroot lives !
added some BT & LAB to horsetail tea foliar spray
seemed to work very well , had a huge outbreak of fungus flies
used some coco that was left outdoors & was lace with eggs as a topoff weeks ago
boy did i pay for that
I did a three prong aggressive kill 'em procedure Dio Earth , then sprayed the soil top with my Orange oil mix & then did daily spraying of BT / Natrol
I had clouds of them at the g/h walls I spray Orange oil mix killed millions they littered the floor lol
set on mist & they dropped outta the sky like rain :fire:
my spiders in the g/h are fat & happy
the Lady Bugs chug on protecting the house
I did BT cause I seen a single butterfly the small yellow/gold ones with back swept wings (cattapillers)

BT is a true thuricide.

During sporulation, many Bt strains produce crystal proteins, called δ-endotoxins, that have insecticidal action.

When insects ingest toxin crystals, their alkaline digestive tracts denature the insoluble crystals, making them soluble and thus amenable to being cut with proteases found in the insect gut, which liberate the toxin from the crystal. The Cry toxin is then inserted into the insect gut cell membrane, paralyzing the digestive tract and forming a pore. The insect stops eating and starves to death; live Bt bacteria may also colonize the insect which can contribute to death.

Ahhhhh.... :0)

BT that shit works , that Natrol is expensive but effective
I let the stuff bloom for 6 hours or more in a gallon jug before use way more effective

I see you have ladybugs, I have given up on them, always dying in the fans and stuff, they create a mess. I am getting 2000 persimilis and 2000 californicus delivered every 2 weeks, seems to do the trick to control spider mites, even thrips seem a little more under control. ( californicus are known to also feed on thrips, and persimilis :/ ) but overall they seem to work together well in my dryish warmish environment. Hyroot might know this but for others that might not know, I have not started over in over 4 years now, always introducing new plants, harvesting plants, its been perpetual for years and I have never lost a full crop, only the odd plant I would give up on here and there but anyway, just to say, beneficial insects do work.
I went to a place that sells them. The lady who runs it with her husband is kind of like the English teacher in high school from hell.
I said I wanted Ladybugs and Lacewings for spider mites. She said where did you hear that? On the Internet?

She said Ladybugs would rather starve to death then eat spider mites. She sold me Phytoseiulus persimilis.

Ladybugs will work on thrips.

she up sold you ! (pred mites are expensive over what a pint of LB's are )
& lied to you LB's eat anything that moves & anything that they can catch .
i had a minor mite outbreak 2 days ago on 12 leaves on a huge plant , I seen the flecking I dismissed the 1st time I every had mites , looked at the back of the leaf & mite just a few & eggs already
put a pint LB on the plants , I actually watched the LB eat the mites at the site of infestation
now no mites , no flecking on any leaves
I used pred mites a whole summer grow it was expensive , they are hard to keep happy ,they are hard to apply evenly
the corn cob or vermiculite that they use as a carrier will fuck up your buds as you can't get it off of the trichomes as the shit buries it self deep into buds

Lady bugs I apply by shaking the cardboard container about 50 LB at the stem base , they all quickly scamper up the plant hungry

I also thought ladybugs were great for a while, until you have a real problem and the ladybugs only ever die in the fans and lights without solving the problem.

you got lucky with ladybugs, you probably caught the mites right on time. Generally, ladybugs are useless... The vermiculite carrier is not meant to be sprinkled on your buds! it''s to help you spread them around from one pot to the next. I think or was told that the persimillis, like spidermites, just keep on climbing. put 100 persimillis at the base of a plant and likely at least a few will reach the top of each branch. look up http://www.appliedbio-nomics.com/ if you are in canada, find a distributor near you.
