i dont know how to connect my bulb to ballast

hey, as i said im not sure how to connect my bulb to the 400w hps ballast, it has a weird output socket(pic below, bottom right plug). dunno if i need a reflector or what.

Your bulb screws into your hood or reflector to which there is a lead which will have a male end to fit into the female part of the ballast. I have not seen a female like that but I assume its what you have in your country, so the reflector should have a male connector to match. If not you will have to cut off that female and wire a female to match the reflectors male.

my ballast has an odd plug like that... what i used was an adapter cable, i forget the name of it, to attach my hood to my ballast.. i'll google the name of the adapter plug i used.. brb.

i have a hydro farm hood, which comes with the normal type plug on the end, and i forget what brand ballast, which requires that funky baasp adapter plug to be used to plug into the ballast's chord..

What were you planning on screwing the bulb into?
yes, to the op, you'd need at least what is called a mogul socket to attach the bulb to if you're planing to run vertical, about the only way in which i know people who don't use some type of hood.. if you're not running vertical, like a large percent of people, you're going to need some sort of hood that usually already has the mogul socket attached to it..
