I finally grew out my experiment

I ordered a fem green Crack seed
Turned out male. Grew it out, harvested and saved pollen.

Was pretty passed at the time but eventually found a good indica
(Banana kush)
Chucked the greencrack pollen
@ the banana kush. I blind tested by giving people my cross, some my diesel and some skunk #1
Overwhelmingly they chose mine.
I got lucky but it was still rewarding.
Looked good and yielded well. Took the best clone for later, still have, the, seeds, and the original gc pollen. 20170508_111411.jpg

Wow, nice work. This is something I would love to do one day. I accidentally crossed a giant Asian sativa with a Liberty Haze, UK Cheese and NYCD. I ended up with over 1,000 seeds, but they're clearly not suitable for indoors. The sativa was a bag seed that hermied under light and probably came off a 15ft plant. I should never have tried to grow it indoors - you live and learn. So I ended up giving most of the seeds away to friends and told them to experiment outdoors over summer. I'm looking forward to seeing what they end up turning out like.

Once I realized how complicated, time and space consuming actual breeding was I kind of gave up on the dream of creating and stabilizing anything. But I think once I`m a few years older I would love to try it. Not with the intent of making money just to go through the process. I`m sure its an emotional roller coaster.

It takes years to stabalise a strain to consider it solid enough to label and grow consistently without problems. I'm happy to let someone else to do that work and just pay them for their genetics! Either way, I think you've done a fantastic job. You did it with intent and look at the great result. You should let your friends grow out the seeds too. See what different phenos you get. Just watch for hermies!

Its weird, I grew about 8 of them and they were all very similiar. I wonder if it has anything to do with the gc and the bk being fairly stable. I expected wild variance but it wasn't there. I agree though, I`m definitely passing out the seeds

I wish I lived near you. I'd happily grow them out under different lights to see what we ended up with. Different terpenes, different THC/CBD ratios. Imagine the flavours. It's all possible. Australia might be a bit too far though
