Idk if I’m going to

i was thinking a Hps light but I heard they consume a lot of electricity compared to the LED I have. I looked around and I came across theses t5 lights. Would these T5 lights be consuming more power?
to get the same results as HID or quality LED they will consume as much if not more power....and be more expensive to purchase W for W.

Led isnt the problem.

Uninformed people buying cheap garbage from Chyna, and the fuckin nerve those company's have to lie to people about actual watts.your light might be 140w if your lucky

Build your own or start with hps like the rest until you get the basics figured out
Hi everyone just wanted some opinions on how you feel about my grow tent set up..
I have a 300 watt maxsisun LED
I have a 6inch fan
A 2x2x4 grown tent
Thermostat
And I just finished germinating my white widow and got it planted in a red solo cup last night. The humanity my tent was really low so I added a humidifier into my tent.
Also it’s been about 80 degrees in my tent
I have some pics!
UPDATE!
Seedling sprouted a couple of days ago she’s looking pretty healthy :)
I have some pics!
Before you see them I recently made adjustments that aren’t in the pictures. They white 6 inch fan I moved to be the exhaust fan on the top of the tent. And for that other big grey fan you see in the picture I had running as the intake but the speed even on its lowest was too strong and it was bringing the humidity down to 55% down from 69%\71% so I turned it off. The temp has been around 81. I wanted to know if my 300w led light was too far away? I didn’t measure it but it looks about 2ft away maybe a little more. Also is my plant looking normal for about 3 days after it sprouted? I’m
using a ph of 6.5.
*update*
Ok so I need apparently my LED light is shit lmao so I’m wondering if I should buy another of the same LED and have them both running? Or should I purchase one of these T5 lights ? I need an estimate of how much more power I will be consuming
you already have a light that's plenty good to veg with. i'd suggest using the light you have for now, and buying a few strips to supplement it. if you can afford it, buy them all at once, if you can't, buy them as you can, and replace your current light completely when you have enough strips.

Hmmm how do you feel about these leds?
They come in packs of 6 and I can hang them vertically in my 2x2x4

Ah, well buy a fan, I feel like an extraction fan is essential in any grow. How are you getting fresh co2?
I have 2 six inch fans in my grow and I just have one attached to the poles as an intake and another attached as an exhaust nothing fancy here yet fellas lol

those are veg lights. there are people on here who do whole runs with them and get decent results, but they use many of them, like 16 or 20, and they buy expensive ones that fill the spectrum out and add some uv. when i say led strips, i mean something like these. maybe not these in particular, but this is the style. most of them come in single strips and you can mount them about 4 inches apart, they give amazing penetration at a lot lower wattage than traditional lights

Let me help you.

if you want one set up solution I think 3000k is used for both veg and bloom. You can go with this

https://www.amazon.com/4x-QB120-Quantum-Boards-3000K/dp/B077KHMZTC/ref=pd_sbs_421_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B077KHMZTC&pd_rd_r=PNG2721VNGNQ3D9A5YY7&pd_rd_w=mBV40&pd_rd_wg=hMkfT&psc=1&refRID=PNG2721VNGNQ3D9A5YY7

If you want a set up thats more specified slightly more bang for the buck ( the 132's are slightly newer version)

https://www.amazon.com/4x-QB132-Quantum-Boards-2700K/dp/B078P8ZD5P/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1520810113&sr=8-2&keywords=QB132&dpID=41XjScYoDzL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

https://www.amazon.com/4x-QB132-Quantum-Boards-4000K/dp/B079YY1RWV/ref=sr_1_6?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1520810113&sr=8-6&keywords=QB132

You will need a power supply, Power cable to splice to the power supply, Some waterproof or nonwater proof wago connectors, Some 20 gauge solid core wire. and probably some steel 9inch fishing leads to string them up with along with an adjustable pully. I guess some wire strippers if you dont have them.

These lights are the best LED available especially for the money, These two QB 132 and QB 123 dont require heat syncs or fans.

dont waste your money on prebuilt crap led's that are purple or CFLS if you want the results you know you're looking for deep down inside..

If youre trying to use all 4 panels it comes with for the 130 bucks ( yes it comes with 4 panels what a deal ) best use minimum 3x3 tent.

TBH I dont know much about the smaller HLG model. Ive just recently transitioned to the QB132's in both specturm my self for about 250-300 ish dollars. total for two 4x panels systems.

I'd of linked the QB132's 3000k but they apparently arent available in that spectrum currently.

They come with 4 boards so it certainly gives you quite a good amount of power for your space.

im not too sure about the HLG's I think they come with 1 board. I can link to the power supply I got for them, it runs the 4 boards.

@ roger sick pic! whats the size of that light space ? very nice !

hlg makes a good product. so does timber and a number of other companies. two of those would probably do you, as well as the units seedfinderss linked above. and do a way better job than the unit you have. i bought a premade led about 3 years ago, and after a couple of months, it got relegated to starting beans and peppers for the garden. buy a good light off the bat, and you'll use it till it wears out

I’m going to buy the one seedfinderss linked as soon as I can get some money for that hopefully next week

I was planning on doing low stress training and using a scrog in my tent. I just to learn how to build one now lol. How long should I keep this plant in vegetation with the size of my grow tent. This is a white widow auto fem plant and it’s promised to make big buds.
I'm kind of limited with experience on auto's-because of the limited veg time they can be tough to build anything really complex. All I've ever done with an auto is to top it once and let them grow. Because of the severe height restriction, you're going to need to train the plant to stay at almost ground level.
This is a great resource for info on what specs are important, how things work and how to build them.

Yeah I was stuck in between buying happy frog or the ocean fox farm. What got me to stay with the fox farm was the reviews when I read some on the happy frog there were a lot of bad reviews because of the gnats people kept seeing in their grow areas. & what you said about keeping it in the soil I have now for a little longer I’m starting to lean towards that too because I would be so mad if my seedling died from the fox soil lol

Be aware of gnats in all medium including ffof. I recently got a dreadfully infested bag, and when I brought it up to the guy at the hydro store he was already aware that there was an issue.

but after a few weeks or so of a floor fan on 24/7 they're all gone. A 9" high velocity floor fan on low in tent breaks their cycle in a couple weeks and they're completely gone

My soil comes in today ! What are some things I should look for when I open it up today? I plan on transferring over my plant into a bigger pot today or in a couple of days! Thank you
