I invited the police in and gave them a tour, seriously

When cops tried getting in using saftey violations as an excuse i had about 30 pages of paperwork showing i was above compliant in all building codes & above fire saftey minimums , they fumbled round a bit then asked nicely if they could come in , had to tell em no way hose a cause they were diks to start with .

I love watching them walk away pouty .
Just curious but what was their reason for the visit? I feel like I know quite a few growers in Colorado who have had police show up at their residence for some reason or another.
Could you imagine if they allowed apartment growing?

Noise and smell complaints non fucking stop is what that would be.
ive grown in apartments before in an illegal state and never once had a problem. 600 hps in one tent and T5 in another. Plus i know several growers in Denver that do as well without any problems.

Sorry but not in N.Hollywood which has way more pot shops then
any city in the
entire world. N.H. cops didn't even care about pot before MMJ.
They never did and never will. They wouldn't even think of wasting their time watching and
a lot of the cops here smoke pot as well. Seriously.
Maybe cops watch people for months where you live but not where I live lol. :D
Los Angeles and the SFV is the unmatched pot mecca of the world like no other anywhere.
Colorado might not be quite as big, but on a per capita basis I'm sure we've got you by a mile... high.

We have about 2000 shops in LA alone.
The whole State of Cali has? Thousands.
I doubt Colorado has more shops then Cali.
but then again I could be wrong?

The reason the cops showed up was to assure we weren't breaking any laws or growing/operating outside our approved charter , it was just a matter of time before they showed up ,we were able to obtain a non profit status & in doing so i had to lay out our entire operation , from the planning stages to how the income generated would be dispersed , on their 2nd visit they came prepared with a compliance warrant & i gave them a guided tour , i had nothing but hand shakes & compliments from the area drug unit called FANG about how safe & organized the grow op was , i was taken back a bit with how polite & well mannered they were with me .

The grow location is well known to city officials , i assume they couldn't believe that we were reporting accurate income figures quarterly & were licking their lips in anticipation of seizing everything in sight .

I was treated with respect as well. I think it might have something to do with winning lawsuits against police departments.

But for everyone of you, there is 25 assholes who wont care, or learn enough to do it right.
I rather think the ratio is the other way 'round; that is, for every twenty five to a hundred responsible growers, there's one fuckwit who has his DWC setup on the carpet on the third floor, has swapped out the circuit breaker cuz it keeps popping and blasts his trim in the kitchen- with the stove on.

It's that one complete fucking moron who will make a bunch of people homeless- or worse. As much as I believe in the positive side of human nature, there is no denying the negative... or the just plain dim.

If he burns his own house down that's one thing. Endangering the lives of innocent neighbors is a whole 'nuther hot plate of hash oil...

"...and offered to help ensure my carbon filter worked properly."
Classic :)
It would be 'classic' if I didn't live a literal stone's throw from a middle school and all my neighbors can tell which strain we're trimming- from the end of the block.

I don't have the right to force my neighbors to live with an objectionable smell. For the record, I'm on my second 1.5m x 16" dia carbon filter with a 12" fan pulling through, it would help if all the air from the whole house passed through it. That will be fixed within the month.

The flip side of freedom is responsibility; in Colorado I'm free to grow, but I'm still responsible if I create a nuisance. How is that not fair?

If you buy a property next to a feedlot, you can't complain about the smell. Greeley residents, you know who you are! OTOH, if you move in and THEN build a feedlot, it's on you.

We may love the smell of great dank weed, but it's not everyone's favorite fragrance... I get that.

I totally agree with you but I think the same thing could be said about gun ownership.

Thank you for the offer , my days of large grows have come to an end ( For Now ) im just doing small personal tables now , i got into legal mmj when Mich 1st adopted the program , stayed for 5 yrs , saved up & put a few pennies away & got out before they started closing even the co-op's down .

We've got the family business to loose plus our summer & winter homes , it just felt like had i stayed any longer i'd loose it all even though i worked 100% within the law & had a union job for 32 yrs .

If Mich's dispensary laws end up where its 100% legal to profit from dispensing i'll open up another shop quick & give you a holler , right now its like we went to vegas , knew when to leave & walked away winners legally .

Im sure they coulda nailed me on some minor issue but after seeing i pulled permits , sought out building code inspections & fire code compliance , showed them up front projected earnings & turned quarterly payments thru our accountant to the IRS , we were so ahead of them in mountians of paperwork signed off by everybody & were turning in handfulls of cash every 90 days it shocked them into a where to look next scenario .

It wont be long before the grow & the store are seized the way my ex partners are pulling shady shit & working every angle , their gonna end up loosing everything including their houses & bank accounts , i wish them the best .

Its good you know the ins and outs about the law. I'm sure I'll learn from you on the hydro aspect. I have the the organic part covered. I think a good hydro organic garden is a good mix perhaps a demonstration on aquaponics also. I like fish.
