No, really. I drive a straight POS, and it's about to die too, haha.

    Don't really know why I'm laughing, I guess so I don't cry...lol

    They are notorious for electronic and coolant issues. I had 4 vw's. 97 jetta vr6, 97 golf 2.0, 2001 1.8t and a 2004 GLI vr6.

97 Jetta: door ring made Atari sounds when I opened the door. Then all electronics went. Fixed that then coolant started leaking. Blown head gasket. Junked it.

97 golf: went through 3 starters. After clutch blew I sold it for 500

2001 jetta 1.8t: electronics went then it over heated and coolant tank split. Blown head gasket. Not worth the effort to fix it. Junked.

2004 jetta gli: was going down the highway, started smoking like crazy. Over heated and shut off. Steering wheel locked up because the car shut off. Broke the column trying to rip the wheel hard enough to get off the highway.. Blown gasket lol. Destroyed the motor and a few wires melted. Junked it. Because it wasn't even worth the fix.

When jettas run they are awesome cars. If I were to buy another vw it'd be a diesel. I also wouldn't mind an r32 golf. Those are awesome.

I would never buy a high miles vw though ever in my life again. And my highest mileage one was the 2001. It had 105k on it. Same goes with Audi. Basically same cars.

Good luck with your new car lol

Toyota. I had a 2009 Corolla that would not die. I beat the fuck out of it and it kept on going. Probably the most ugly, reliable car I've ever owned. And it really wasn't to slow. I got it up to 125 then it shut off

You shut you dirty mouth! Lol jk
Hopefully the turbo is in good shape. Keep an eye on the electronics. Dimming lights and stuff. One awesome thing those cars have is a surprisingly good stock radio

Had a real bad 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T. Sell. If it runs, sell now. Money pit. Or maybe mine was just a lemon. One thing after another. Mileage was over 100k but I can't remember by how much.
