I need More Light

in a reflective tent height doesnt really matter as much. at 45W/SF of efficient cobs id want to be a minimum of 16" away. that would be the same for strips at 45W/SF
How height isn't important in reflective tent? My LUX meter reads different at different heights.

i didnt say it wasnt important, i said it wasnt as important.

a spot reading at top of canopy is only one small metric of how much light your plant is getting. for good development plants like intense uniform light all over , 500-700 ppfd uniform over an entire plant will generally do better than 1000 ppfd on the tops and 200 on the bottoms which is what you get if your lights are too close

One final check-in before i bite the bullet and start building, heres my current list, running each panel with 3x CXM-22 and a HLG-185H-48A(225w) will a 4.850" x 36" Heatsink from HSUA be sufficient? Any thoughts on Active vs Passive cooling? will Active cooling help keep the Ambient temperature lower rather than full passive cooling? thanks!

Luminus CXM-22(3K, 90cri) x 3

MeanWell HLG-185H-48A x 1

BJB Holder for Luminus CXM-22 x 3

Arctic Thermal Pad x 3

LEDiL Angelina Reflector 90° (F13839) x 2 (only placing reflectors on COBS that touch the edges of the tent, does this sound correct?)

4.850” x 36” Heatsink x 1 (thoughts on length and profile? active vs passive cooling?)

3 per 36" heat sink at 75W each is doable with active cooling. I would place one 120mm fan directly above each of the COB mounting points.

Active vs passive will have no effect on ambient temps.

You would want the HLG-185H-36A, not the 48A. The 48A is a 48V driver and will fry those 36V CXM-22's in short order.

the base on those is pretty thin. youre gonna want a fan right over the top of each one if run at 75W ea
Any recommendations on another profile? Maybe 5.886"? Thats what i use with my 210w 4x cxb3070 temps were always good. But id like to go 36" in length to cover the tent as well as possible. Thanks for all the help!

if youre looking at passive id say 7mm/ 1/4" minimum. active you can get away with thinner base

perfect, I think i will go full passive just to reduce wiring and power consumption. With that in mind and with your suggestion for a thicker base plate, how does this one sound(heatsink usa link)?
Ive been using the HeatsinkUSA Calculator on this forum to calculate the needed length to go passive(attached below). I guess i may need to extend my heatsink length to 38" to use this profile though. Does that sound correct? or could i push it with only 36" length?
