If you've ever seen what comes off the buds when washed it will blow your mind. I did it and just like the guys says it doesn't hurt it and the taste is fresh and clean. I grow outdoors and they get rained on and I spray them all season to keep the leaves clean so there's no difference. try it you'll like it.

That hot water bath has to remove some trichomes, look at the color of the water compared to the other two. I could, maybe..., see doing a cold water wash on outdoor bud. If your indoor bud is that dirty you need to change your game up.
I'd be interesting to use RO water, then boil it down and see what was actually removed.

warm tepid water not cold because that makes the trichromes stiff like ice hash and they will break off hot water is not good. that color in the first bucket is mostly dust and bug shit if outdoors.

Above all never let it rain on your bud as all the trichs will come off! I've sprayed and dunked forever with cool water and just one bucket clear water only. All will be fine and you won't smoke near as much cat hair and skin flakes. And if you sprayed with anything in flower it's a great idea.
You can look with a scope before and after and you can see no damage is done. Also, there exists a phenomenon called Water Curing.

Its not some fantasy bullshit .... If you do it properly you will see how much dirt and shit stick to the buds.
You will not lose potency or smell. You are doing a SHORT simple dunk or two. It helps pull off PM , bugs , hair , foliar residue , insecticide or whatever shit you threw on your plants. It a valid technique and do it regularly . Hang as usual for drying. It helps start the chlorophyll degrade since chlorophyll is water soluble.
Washed buds seem smother in smoke and cleaner taste.
If it didn't work i wouldn't do it. I would not risk good strains on a fad.

I guess you were poking fun at who said rain knocks trics off. I was going to say something about all the outdoor I've grown and it rained on. Turned out pretty good.
I dunked a few buds before. I didn't notice any loss of potency and smell was just fine after the cure.
I don't keep my outdoor and my indoor has hepa filters on the intake so its pretty clean.

Waste of time. I guess it helps people feel better about there crop. It's already so bad that washing it gives them a sense of better smoke.

Just out of curiosity if you want a cleaner smoke wouldn't you just pull out the ol bong and fill er up with some water and ice? Maybe its the new generation but damn i want my shit to hit you hard as hell and cough your brains out. A good flush to the roots at the end of the grow is all thats needed in my book......I guess to each their own
