Gotta get them temps up in the 78-80*F range & your plants will explode with growth. Thats a good move with the switching of the lights. Youre gonna be much better off with the hps and the extra heat right now. That girl is looking very cold and purple for a vegging plant.

I've been running the heaters & I know this looks like a clusterfuck but it seems to be working I'm gonna exploit the free heatIMG_4214.JPGIMG_4216.JPG IMG_4217.JPG

I've kept this switchable setup for a backup light & im glad I did it has given me some good grows I used to start at 250 w. & switch to 400w. to finish now she is back in service as a heater lol.. temps are at 70.f 'ish right now & by midday yesterday they hit 80.f I've been considering a 3rd tent & a 315 cmh as well maybe this spring lol..it's cheaper to run this light & get the free heat ( lights on) circulated to both tents & only run the heaters during lights off time than to run heat 24/7 I'll eventually get this shit figured out HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!IMG_4219.JPGIMG_4220.JPG IMG_4221.JPGIMG_4222.JPG IMG_4223.JPG

I really hope this is a keeper strain next batch of nutes I'll kick it up a notch to greenleafs reccomended schedule right now 3 gr/gal @ 740 ppm with calmag my tap water is 61 ppm. rain storm moving in so it's actually warming up even at the light dose nothing looks deficient really looking forward to filling the screen & flipping so far I'm really liking the simplicity of this stuff ph. with no adjustments comes out @ 6.1 every time this stuff is very predictable IMG_4256.JPGIMG_4257.JPG IMG_4258.JPGIMG_4259.JPG

it rained last night & the weather has warmed up I'll probably finish this grow with the hps & im still considering another tent (2x2) for the California light works light & a 315 cmh or possibly a quantum board kit for this tent just waiting to see what the new California "legalization " brings before I invest more into this hobby IMG_4272.JPG

raised the light to 18" as towards the end of the light cycle the leaves look a little warm & starting to canoe a bit on a few of them some of the things I got away with when the temperatures were low I'm not gonna get away with nowIMG_4277.JPG

Funny it gets a little cold up here
But i was looking at all the wasted light that hits my control wall ..... and it came to me to try a passive solar heater made for about 30 bucks

Increased my room temps enough to where i have to REMOVE unless its real cold outside

This was like a duh moment but i was happy to not have to run the heater during lights on

Im sure you could increase the efficiency of your heat by adding a thin layer of rigid foam on the outside of your tent..

And you could probably get a couple of degrees by putting a black trash bag on the floor of your tent.

It might work might not. But not more to lose then a trashbag and a days time to see.

But there is energy in light and that can be turned to heat with black and soloar absorbing materials.

At least in my room with my light adding the black passive heater worked.

Just my 2

my tents are in a 9x9 room that I insulated with foamboard I have a cooler that works out good in summer I've had to cut my hps back to 250w. as temps under the 400 we're 93.f next grow I'm moving the tents to the south wall of the room my goal is to get back to leds in both tents but for now ( the cold part of the year) I'm gonna keep the hps in this tent & ducting the excess warm air over to the other tent also have foam board for the floors this is my first winter in this room loosing both grows in the old room due to a power failure & 114.f temps so I guess you can say this is a work in progress this will be my second grow in this setup a learning experience for sure thanks for the input you've got some good ideas

I feel you i grew in a little box for years.

I figured when i moved to a real room id be easier, ha ha just had to relearn "my new environment " ..... just when you think you got it dialed in lol

I relocated about 50 miles & 1,000ft. higher in elevation you wouldn't think it to be much different but it is i am having to un-learn a lot of things
