a few roots is a ok, damage t many and your plant cant maintain current growth.
if you damage a large portion of roots take part of the palnt off too

If you just ripped a few, it should be fine. Ripping a lot of em... or the tap root is where problems will follow.
live, it's no big deal to them, a super tough plant.

yes it is a tough plant...i ripped over half the roots on a plant once and it lived, it didnt grow for like a week cause of the shock, but after that it took off...
