Illuminometer Light Intensity Measurement Luminance Meter

hi i was looking for a par meter but most i look at are costly so i was looking at lux meters. is it worth buying one can the readings be converted to par
pretty much trying to see how much par im giving my plants
i have tried them lux meter apps on your phone but i cant get them to work
