Inconvenient "Truth" rebuttal?

When Michael Moore released Farenheit 9-11, it was shortly followed by an expose called Farenhype 9-11, which uncovered some of the untruths of the original. I am wondering if anyone knows if a similiar film has been done or is being planned in regards to Al Gore's "documentary." I work with kids, and some of the other staff I work with have converted to Evangelical Environmentalism, and have been making great efforts to convert the children.
I actually wrote one particular staff up this last week for showing Gore's film to the children without supervisorial permission.
And before anyone gets all riled up about the staff's freedom of speech or whatever: I work with Severely Emotionally Disturbed kids, and they don't need to be fed Prophet Gore's apocalyptic visions of the future any more than they do Pat Robertson's or Bin Laden's.
At any rate, if anyone has info on any rebuttal films, please post it.

Good job! i haven't seen that film (no need to see it) but i know that they donned the masque of it being a "documentary" and they present those opinions as though they are facts, trying to subdue everyone into fear and a self loathing.

i don't think anyone has put the "other side" into a film yet but it's going to happen - you can count on that.

I have seen the film (twice), and though I remain unconvinced of Gore's arguments, I would really recommend that you check the film out. It is fascinating on several levels. My impressions of the film:
I was surprised at how unconvincing it was on an intellectual level. I fully expected to come away from the film with at least some small kind of new understanding or belief, but this was not the case.
You really get to see the difference between an effective and well-made propoganda film (Farenheit 9-11) and a shitty one (Inconvenient Truth.) The first was entertaining and humorous; the second was like sitting through a really bad staff meeting.
The film clearly demonstrates the link between religion and ecowarriors. Global warming is straightforwardly presented as a "moral issue," with Gore as the new Moses and a whole new set of commandments that we must obey in order to save not only ourselves, but the entire planet. If you don't buy into Gore's vision, you are a demonstrably uncaring and indifferent person (and probably a mongoloid capitalist to boot.) By the end of the film, it is easier to understand the present Evangelical Environmental movement from an emotional standpoint (if still not an intellectual one.)
One of the things that I have really noticed since viewing the film is that the vast majority of climate alarmists that I have met are in no way traditionally religious. I think that environmentalism is clearly filling a need in their lives in terms of finding purpose, meaning, forgiveness and ultimately redemption- areas that used to be addressed by churches.

At any rate, I would highly recommend the movie even to skeptics, as I found it very illuminating (though not for the reasons Gore intended I'm sure.)

Hey Danky, I thought of you and your request when I read these stories earlier today............

The film brings together the arguments of leading scientists who disagree with the prevailing consensus that a 'greenhouse effect' of carbon dioxide released by human activity is the cause of rising global temperatures.
Instead the documentary highlights recent research that the effect of the sun's radiation on the atmosphere may be a better explanation for the regular swings of climate from ice ages to warm interglacial periods and back again.

Accepted theories about man causing global warming are "lies" claims a controversial new TV documentary.

‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’ - backed by eminent scientists - is set to rock the accepted consensus that climate change is being driven by humans.

"Al Gore might have won an Oscar for ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, but the film is very misleading and he has got the relationship between CO2 and climate change the wrong way round."

Gore is taking some hefty smacks from the non-starry-eyed scientific community now. we'll see some backtracking in the near future. he's already said that he's made corrections in his book, changed some slides in his powerpoint presentation...

The New York Times ran a piece today highly critical of Gores shrill hyperbole and hysteria.....not to mention the gigantic flaws in his puerile mantra of "consensus".......Gore is a buffoon.....IMHO.....he is also a dopey bastard!

DO you know who you are talking about?

Your self.. this is YOU... you YOU YOU... tough to see that maybe... but you have brought so much to THE film.. so MUCH of YOUR SELF.... a false self.. an identity that you defend with such vigor and enthusiasm... ALL FALSE SELFs must be defended... a fasle self is a crumbling wal that must be repaired 24-7.... you are the ultimate repair man...

How about letting your FASLE self go and ACTUALY "SEEING"... you will be more impressed THAN ever before!

Something far beyond "intelect"

very very obvious your perspective is veiled in layers upon layers OF false self... you are protecting so much by the bashing of others.... your writing puts YOURself on such a HIGH pedastool.. what are you afraid of? falling of your pedastool, of course....

it is a painful realization at first.. but upon letting your false perspctive GO, you will have so much FREE energy to help your fellow MAN.. to fullfill your purpose..

You are like a tractor that is trying to sew a pair of pants.. tractors are not ment to sew...
