Indica Stretching Advise...

Hey Friends...

I have a Lady growing (Cookies kush) right now and she is currently 10 inches tall @ 4weeks veg. I would like to know what the best time to switch her over to 12/12 is? I don't want her getting over 3 feet tall because of space limitations.

Any thoughts on how much this Girl scout cookies/Kush might stretch? I appreciate your input

It depends. Normally I would say expecting double is a safe bet. But you said 10 inches at 4weeks?.. That sounds stunted. Generally the second set of 5 fingered leaves should be around the size of a grown mans hand. How big r yours?

Post pics. U don't want to bring problems into flower. Think of it like this. In every grow your plant starts with 100 points and every small fuck up from flip to chop subtract s points from your end product

ill take some pics. i have her in organic soil with manure from the hardware store. haven't added any nutes yet because i was told that the manure would be plenty for vegging.

Im also wondering why the bottom leaf is turning yellow a tid bit. I gave some miracle grow all purpose fertilizer today to hopefully give it a boost. It seems its lacking something. Im guessing the M.G. fertilizer is the reason the tips of the leaves are curled down all the sudden.

When using synthetic nutes, especially miracle grow, use at 1/4 strength and water until good run off. About 20-30% to prevent salt build up.

It looks decent. It will need a bigger pot before flowering.

As far as stretch it varies plant to plant. Sativas will stretch the most and indicas the least.

Figure somewhere double to triple in size. Pure indicas won't quite double in size.

That plant looks to be a 60/40 indica/ sativa. Looks can be deceiving as some sativas have broad leaves.

Double would be a good guess.

Top it once or twice to make it spread out sideways and slow the upward growth. Topping will yield more.

You dont think Its too late for topping? i read somewhere u should top at the 2nd node and I'm way past that. I would like to top if its not too late...

if height is an Issue you might want to start training the plant. I personally would LST that plant now and through first few weeks of flower (Stretch).

Veg time is gonna depend on what room you have to flower, how many plants you're flipping etc.

If you have one plant there's no reason why not to top several times and veg out to max your canopy to match sqft in flower. Topping will extend your veg time but a healthy plant will grow vigorously and will pay dividends into flower.

I've seen 1lb plants in a 4x4 scrog from 9+ week veg time.

Well... I topped her. Im wondering do I have to strip all the lower branches now that i've topped her or can i leave em?
Depends what you have left; err on the side of caution and don't leave her naked. Avoid lolipopping until she's fully established and can maintain the loss of those lower shoots/branches with a lush canopy up top. Remember that removing healthy growth puts the plant into repair mode and will stunt growth. Bigger, healthier plants obviously bounce quicker. This is why there's a difference between high stress training and low stress training, and both are art forms requiring practice.

I think I will leave her be and see how she reacts to being topped.

1 gallon pots= 1 month max before roots circle out of control(bound).

Gallons = months.

Indica Dom stretches maybe 15% over current.

Sativa likes 8-10' ceiling and can 100-200% stretch.

More root mass = bigger, happier, more room for human error plant.
