Plenty of headroom :bigjoint:
I am currently only using 400W of CXB3070's for my GG#4 grow but once its done I'm hooking up my (2) 1k HPS now that we have some cooler temps here in the Midwest. I use the outside environment to cool and exhaust my rooms with those. Then I dont need to run AC like I did with my cobs since theres no way to "vent" them, but I have some plans for that in the works. I have outside air come in, through the lights, then vented back outside. My 1K's stay very cool, but my setup isnt good for summer grows at all. My AC was workin real hard this summer just with 400W of cobs. Thats the only reason I even built the light bars was for summer grows.
Say... im considering 1350 watts of cob for a 5x9 space, but i wonder after reading your post what kind of heat troubles that might cause?

Right now i run 2 x 1000w hps air cooled in that space and my window a/c doesnt have to work all that hard.

From my encounters with both, the issue between an air cooled HPS and a COB led fixture is that the hps is undoubtedly hotter but can be air cooled and ducted away/out of the room. The led puts off far less heat than the hps but there isnt any available setup for ehxausting/venting the heat directly from the led units which in turn makes your ac work more. Now on the flip side to that, the power I save using led vs hps offsets the AC power usage. Its really an "economical catch 22" really.
