mal_crane not to be a pary pooper but you are mistaken, i live in the 916 area of california. I am fully prop 215 legal which means if its legal in california and has to do with mmj i am entitled to it. Therefore i have multi grow-ops as well as a patient collective i run and most of the "newbies" that i have observed start out with a system exactly or extremely similar to this one. It may seem complicated but, it is about normal for a beginning setup/

These systems seem pretty complex for "newbie's". I've never seen any grow room's that are as complex as these. All the people I know go for a cheap grow. These systems are more for the wealthy newbie. My grow rooms and boxes cost less than 50 dollars to build.

da seedman agrees, ive made em cheap myself, ya dont have to spend big bucks, as long as it got light, and can breath, you'll get smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!,


but im also spending big too...

hey, i know there are some low tech ops, but when i start as a newbie i want a decent system, so i'm outdoors to rake in a few bucks to go indoor with the op. I'm thinking greenhouse though.. maybe something like a downhill water system with nutrients in the water and coconut poit in the pots...... i've seen one like that with tomatoes. very simple ,very clean, very sustainable, very cool, and uses the SUN. neat. another cool idea i heard and drew up plans for is having a cheapo above ground pool installed and then building a small deck and pump housing shed around it (heated small pools are totally in) and using the pool as the resevoir and cooling system, the deck takes exhaust into it and vents through the boards, along with housing your co2 tanks. you'd have perfect pest control, as any vents would have a carbon lining (you can buy cheapies for the intake, since there's no smell there) and it's be expected to be loud, as it's a pump shed. and you can even swim a limited amount in the pool, as the nutrients would be added within the hydro tubes, but i haven't worked out all the kinks. just heard about it and ran away with it , but still neat, i think!

Thanks Ive been looking for a diagram to help me out Im more of a hands on, looking at diagrams type of learner and this really did it.
 
yo i got a question kinda off topic a lil but is thier a different affect from veging under t5 rather then mh to save electricity no matter what im flowering hps though

I built my own utilizing a metal storage cabinet so it is totally stealth. Total cost including materials, 600w light, fan can fan and filter, drip system and all chemicals needed to grow from veg to finishing flower .... $1500 and worth it. I am able to lock it and no light escapes at all. The internal temp has been running around 75 degrees and to drop the water temp I am using frozen 1 gallon water jugs, I also just added an aquarium air pump that I found sitting around which will help oxinate the water.
you got any pics or plans on how to build this? msg me

Why so negative? Have you read the comments on this thread?

This post has been helpful to me and many other people. Those drawings have really helped me picture how things should be positioned and the different ways of doing things. Some more advanced setups would be cool but all in all a great post/thread! Thank you
 
I know we have three illustrations but do guys have any others you could link me to? I've read a lot of helpful info here but the illustrations are like icing on the cake. New to forums also so forgive me and by the way I have been reading for hours today so I am doing my due diligence.

I'd be interested in opinions about this plan. Designed for a climate that has huge swings of temperature (0-100f and excessive humidity).
My thought is to use a closed system utilizing a seperate room as a buffer zone. Exhaust from the light to be expelled in summer and reused in winter months.
The passive returns into the grow are adjustable to regulate tank and root temps.
Passive vent in closet intended to draw heat out of area thermally with passive from under door.

Also, the grow area will be enlarged greatly once Med passes in my state (fingers crossed). Right now I'd like to get good temp and humidity control established.

not sure how specific the diagram is but maybe a larger res and the table can can be lowered a bit. If you are using a sealed environment with a lung room, I'd spend the few hundred more and get set up with co2.

I saved the file kinda small, but there is a co2 generator planned for the closet area. I see what your saying about the tank and agree. What would be a preferred tank size for a grow like this? I've also decided to add reverse osmisis.

On the table, I've now decided the room need to be larger so that I can get to the plants in the rear... with the plan I posted theres no way I could reach to the back of a 6ft table. I'm still debating what size...actually thinking of adding an additional 1000hps to the system. I have 2 -1000 watt lumatek dimable ballists and 2 sun systems 8" "ocho" hoods that could be used for the project.

This heat and humidity are a real booger in the location where I intend to build. I'm not completely noob, but I've not faced this type situation before.

I realized after posting that it was actually my first post. My bad....I should have introduced myself prior:)

I've read so many threads on this forum that I almost already feel a part of it.
Hats off to all the experienced folks on here sharing their time and knowledge.

I don't have the exact answer for you but I would start a thread in grow room design-hydro section that says "what size res?" Include exact size of table and # of plants. Might want to also ask what size pump

I think you quoted the wrong box, assuming you are talking about the co2. When you consider the increase in yield, it pays for itself and then some, can't get any cheaper. It's about 200-250 to set up and about $7-15/mo to maintain.
