If you've followed me before welcome back, if not welcome.
This will be a new experience to follow, my last grow was a total ghetto with CFLs the whole time. You can see it here on rollitup.org just search my previous threads.

I have started some seeds as soon as the last frost hit the area. They all sprouted, and grew happily under the CFL's left over from my last grow.

I've invested in a tent, and a 400 watt HPS light with reflector and ballast.
This is the grow journal and discussion, chat if you want to, but enjoy the grow as it progresses as well.

Lights are on 18/6. Grew them for 3 weeks then fertilized with half powered scotts for about a week and now they are currently on full strength scotts liquid fertilizer until the upcanning and move into the tent. At that time I will teach myself how to use the samples I was provided when I got my light.View attachment 1516359View attachment 1516358View attachment 1516357

Schultz...

thats what a lazy stoner gets for not getting up and checking. I guess I'm using schultz not scotts.

Hey this is a really good set up by the looks of things. Just to add I'm new here, and I smoke weed everyday however I have always wanted to get into the growing side of things. Sick of greedy dealers. Have no clue what to do, where and how to start though.

The easiest way to start is to plant whatever if any seed you find in the bud you smoke. Pop some CFLs on it and watch it grow.
After your first one or two depending on if it turns out male or female, then you can think about bigger grows.
Dispensary prices around me are crazy high. But I grew with CFLs before you can see the grow in my signature.

7 plants got planted into soil bought from Costco.

The ribbons are color coded to the soil.
Using Fox Farms Ocean Forest (green ribbon), Royal Gold Basement Mix (blue ribbon), Costco soil (silver ribbon).

Best to see for yourself what works best. So once these babies get happy in the new environment and show prosperous growth I'll switch them to flower and get some real action going.

They are old enough now, some are showing preflowers, so I'll be able to trim to crop down a little and focus on the females.

what size of tent is that, and what is your aim? how many plants do you want complete under that 400w ?

also, i'd throw some ventilation in there..

Its the 4 ft. by 4 ft.
I want to keep as many as turn female. My rec is for 24 plants, so I can keep them all if they are all female.
The ventilation will come as the weather turns, right now they have enough circulation to manage the heat.

5 days under the light shows massive differences.

You can see in this picture the differences between the soils. The right two columns are the Costco bought soil, they had about 2 days headstart in the transplant. The row in the middle that still is yellow is the Royal Gold Basement mix, and the nice green ones on the left are the fox farms ocean forest.

View attachment 1553570View attachment 1553569View attachment 1553568We've reach 1 week of flowering. It looks like all the girls answered the casting call. I have no identifiable males in the group.
If they are showing sex currently, they are showing female. The plants that got planted in the "Royal Gold Basement mix" are the slowest of the group, they are not as bushy and most have not shown sex yet.
The fox farms ocean forest is doing wonderfully, but it is just as good it seems as the bag of soil I picked up from costco.

Seeing as none of my ladies ever became men, I had to thin the crop slightly, so 5 lovely "mothers" were taken to a favorite dispensary nearby. Had to share the strain with others.

They are growing great! Occasional treatments with liquid light and saturator. Watering as needed, moving the light as needed. Rotating when I water.

Feel free to comment if anyone wants. Any recommendations? Anyone with experience with Dutch Masters and soil.
