Inducing Flowering on Autos? 12 or 24HRS Dark

I'm getting impatient with my WW & Grizzly Purple Autoflowering plants. There is no sign of hairs anywhere and they're at 5 weeks. I read on another forum about inducing flowering with stubborn autos by either giving them

24 hours of darkness

or

12 hours of darkness

then proceeding back to their normal light schedule (20/4). Has anyone done this before? I'm thinking of trying it with my Purple because the WW is small and could use a little more veg.

In other situations I would be patient and just wait it out but I only started these autos for fun (they were attitude freebees) but now that they're taking forever to flower they're going to be taking up too much space I would like to use for clones in a few months.

You can but it wont make a difference if it is a true auto. The tap root controls flower. The larger the pot, the longer the veg time. Veg nutes, higher N extends flower time.

Got any pics? I would leave the be. Sounds like they will be bigger autos and go 100 days or more.

Be patient and it will happen. I have grown autos that hit 3 ft and take 100 days.

A dose of flowering nutes can induce flower.

Purple a few days ago. It's grown about an inch since this photo.

Be Patient!
Your Auto will flowe by its self.. take advantage of this time, it means more meds for you !
If your impatient now it's going to be a long grow.
Relax and let her do her thing.

Got up this morning and the smaller plant (White Widow) is showing white pistils. I'm not sure if that means it's flowering now or just maturing/showing sex like a photo plant does around week 4+?

Still nothing from the larger auto, just normal veg growth. I must say the stalk is very thick and healthy compared to my other plants

I agree with, Whitebb, these little laddies didnt start the flower prosess until almost week 7, & to support , Whitebb's theory, the 1 in the square pot , has an extra 15 litres of soil & took a week longer to start flowering...........id just be rolling with nature & not interfearing, imo
