Interesting question concerning phenotype breeding.

I have 2 Strawberry Blue plants growing at the moment. I stressed one(Big Lady) with some overly cold overnight temps and she spit out around 10 male flowers. I took most of them off but kept a couple on. When they were ready I removed them, took some pollen, and pollinated a few buds on each plant.

So I have confirmed seed development on both Strawberry Blue plants.

Two buds on the Sweet Lemon Phenotype - Little Lady(LL)

Five small buds on the Sweet Earthy Berry Phenotype - Big Lady(BL)

I was wondering to myself earlier about what to expect from the seeds. The pollen came from BL and so I would expect that the seeds will stay true to her in every way. What got me thinking the most is what to expect from the crossing of the phenotypes. What chance do I have that the lemon of LL will come through? I would fucking love it to have some Strawberry Lemonade bud growing. Anyone have any experience with breeding 2 diff phenotypes of the same strain? Thanks in andvance. :peace:

No experience with that here, but it seems to me that a few of the beans will probably come out as expected.

Take your seeds when they are ready to plant and grow em out, take clones and flower em.
Then you can see what has come of it in the diff phenos.

Theyll all be fems, is my only problem with this. The only way you'll be able to carry on is clones or selfing for seed again.

I am somewhat against selfed/fems just for those issues.
How many times have ya wanted to buy seed and find its clone only? Sucks.
Now, if you had reg seed to begin with, then you could hold over what you have(in clone form) and sprout more looking for a male.
Then you could proceed uninhibited by the plants you have.
