Intermittent lighting while maintaining 24/on in veg?

Ok, so I'm back from the dead as far as this community is concerned, My state has finally legalized rec use, and I'm on my second grow since, My first had a few issues I won't get into but this time around I'm running old tried and true methods except the lighting. Is there anyone out there who's had experience with intermittent supplemental lighting...(side lighting that runs for an hour/on for an hour off) while my t5's blaze on the full 24/on? I'm trying to limit temps from my LED side lighting in my tent, so I want them running some of the time, but not the full 24 hours.

sorry for the useless info, I'm slightly stoned.

My main question is this, Will the T5s being constantly on prevent the plant from going into shock, with the side lighting constantly going on and off? Or should I bite the bullet and turn on my exhaust fan and invest in earplugs?

t5s will prevent healthy photo plants from uh, going into shock, or uh, flowering as we often call it.
ditch the side lighting

fair enough on the side lighting, makes my life easier for certain. The shock I was referring to wasn't flowering, more of an unintentional hermie type shock, which in my early days I crossed path with on multiple occasions. Thanks for the reply

those past occasions were user error.
I know of no light in veg that causes shock or hermaphrodites. either you got light the plant can use, enough of it, and the plants grow. more par light is more grow.
