Cobbie, not to put more on your plate but you might want to talk to Apogee, HydroFarm, Li-cor, etc to become a reseller for them. Many of your customers can/should use a PAR meter so it could be a good revenue stream.

I like your selection, was going to order a driver and 3 cobs, but $22 shipping seems ridiculous to me. My last shipment from CDI of 5 heatsinks (9980s) and 5 cobs/holders was less than $9...

I can understand. But to me, a $13 price difference for hard to find items, in one spot, AND in the US is worth it. He's not running a $10M site, so he cant really subsidize shipping by volume sales. We'll be ok.

You really compare a large company to an individual that is doing it to help others out and you want to complain about $7 difference in shipping. The few things that you bought go inside a medium flat rate box and its $15 to ship anywhere in the usa.If that is really going to kill you to pay it then you can wait 4-6 weeks and paying less for shipping.
Personally I would rather help out that individual that is here even if it cost more the information and resource is invaluable

There is a old saying on custom made things you can have it 2 out of 3 ways you get to pick, you can have it fast, you can get it cheap, or you can get it done right, but you cant have all 3

How does the RIU discount work. Its not that I cant afford it, its just a peeve of mine when businesses gouge for shipping... Even flat rate boxes are kind of a rip off unless you are shipping something heavy IMO.

as ive said many many times here, the shipping calculator isnt accurate. if its anything over like a few bucks extra i always refund the difference

online calculator runs high.. its easier to refund people the difference than to delay their order and hit them up for more money

every order is different. i can put 8 heatsinks in a flatrate box for $17... but add a hlg320 driver and its another $17 cause were into another box

i dont make money on shipping, but i do need to cover it with the prices i offer

yes theres lots of stuff liek that id like to do, for stuff that expensive it usually is hard to stock and then you become a drop-ship middleman which may or may not work out if the company offers the right deal

flat rate boxes are usually a great deal because drivers and heatsinks are heavy.

even the $7 flat rate small boxes are 2-3 times what it costs for first class but when people get their chips in 2-3 days they all seem happy

fwiw i dont sell 9980s but 4 heatsinks and some cobs would be $13 flat rate domestically

and ill never dis on cdi they have great service. but they would literally turn away 90% of the customers that ask me application questions

Didnt realize the shipping calc wasnt accurate, just kinda caught me off guard when I saw the price it quoted, I was thinking 10-15 or whatever for shipping, but I cant order anyway till you get in the new gen6 1818's...

i have a tray each of the following in 1818:
3000k 80 and 90 (just landed not up on site yet)
4000k 80 and 90

not planning on stocking the 1818s for colors i have in cxm22 (3000 and 3500 80 and 90), ill prob only be using the 1818s in colors i wouldnt want to buy in cxm qtys (400). colors like 2700, 4000, 5000, 5700, 6500 that dont sell are best bought in 30 packs that i can get the 1818s in

when i get time ill run the 1818 3000k 80s against the cxm22 3000k 80s in the sphere. cxm was better than gen 5 but gen 6 might be different. the 1818s would have to be substantially better to justify the $24 vs $17 cost of a cxm22.
