Iron Labs price jacking?!?!?!

I got an email that lays out a totally new pricing schedule with tiered membership. Just 2 months ago I bought a membership for 285$ if memory serves me correct, and now they're saying that we current members are only getting standard membership and the price per test is being jacked up and they are now offering the highest level memberships for a third of the price I paid 2 months ago. I haven’t even had time to get more than 4 tests done and I'm starting to feel ripped off here. I was paying 35 bucks per test and now apparently they are jacking single test prices that match the ones I have had in the past, now they want $65 AND they want me to pay AGAIN to "upgrade" my membership. WTF?!?! Anyone else heard of this before? I know of a few people here who use IL so I was hoping maybe one of you who are more in-the-know than myself, could shed some light and hopefully explain how I'm mistaken here. Am I just reading this wrong?

My screenshot add-on isn't working correctly so I had to split the screenshots of the email into multiple shots, and I did a shitty job of cropping them, but you will get the gist of it.

Years of paying lawyers to lobby for their business opportunities (provisioning center bill) has it's costs, especially being years in without any results nor end in sight.

I'm going to call Howard tomorrow morning to ask about how those of us who bought a lifetime already will be handled. He seemed like a very reasonable fella. Surely he can't be ripping us off here. I'll let you guys know.

They should take the difference from what you paid for the annual membership and apply that to any samples you bring in for testing. So you should have apx a $200 credit towards testing. That seems fair to me.

yeah i got that email the otheday too from them.. i was wondering what the hell it was about.. thats just a lot for flower testing.. 65$ is what i used to pay for oil testing.. which means that the oil testing has to be in the 100$ range now.. which is fucking stupid.. i think i used to pay 110$ to test oil and have a residual test done ... shit now thats going to be stupid expensive..

i dont wanna knock them but we have had two of the exact same oils from the same batch tested there before and the levels were 8% different between tests... after that i was so skeptical of the system i really didn't wanna go back to test my oils...

I have heard that third coast in ypsilanti is getting the chrom. machine to test anyone know anything about that?

Haven't heard about that but would appreciate any info anyone has on this other lab. Can't say I didn't think twice about the use of "lifetime" membership when I handed over my cash. so it's on me, lifetime souded too good to be true and you know what they say about that shit.

both most of dispensaries won't even accept untested buds..

yeah i have heard it a few times.. there are other testing sites.. there was another one here in michigan i can't think of the name now.. but about two years ago their phones and shit were shut down so I'm not sure what happened.. but some use photos only and send them into another lab to test by photo.. i still don't get that but i don't know shit about how things are tested.

i thought the main fee of ... i think it was 200$ to join or something .... gave you a lifetime membership there... am i wrong? I'm gooing to be pissed if i have to pay more upfront just to get back in for testing.... raising the price.. fine i guess but if they make me pay another membership fee I'm going to be super anti iron labs.

in ypsilanti theres a dispensary owner that used to push testing and he heard about the testing levels being different and he did the same thing.. brought in shit off the exact same batch but put them under different names and the levels were different.. I mean your levels are going to be different from your main colas to your micro under buds.. but oils and shit out of the same batch should be close or equal..IMOP.. but like i said i don't know crap about the process... anyway point of that whole story the dispensary doesnt push testing by them anymore...

actually now that i look at it when i paid for my 100-150$ membership fee... whatever it was it was still only 45$ for a flower test that hasn't changed... but last year they didn't give you the option of not paying to be a member and only paying a 65$ test fee ... did they? cause when i signed up it was pay the member ship fee... you get one free testing with the membership fee and then every flower test was 45$ after that..
i think its kinda nicer for those that don't have the ability or use for multi testing to not pay that massive member fee..

got this today. I think they are watching us.... LOL. Thanks Ironlabs for clearing that up.

Dear IRON Laboratories Member,
Please note that all IRON Laboratories Lifetime members are automatically grandfathered in to the IRON level pricing schedule and WILL NOT be required to purchase the annual or monthly membership.

The new pricing in the email you recently received gives all members significantly upgraded tracking, reporting and labeling systems, so we are confident you will find value in these upgrades and continue to test with the Michigan's most trusted source in cannabis quality assurance.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
IRON Laboratories

I would guess both. you know how the interweb gets all crazy when stirred up. better to quell that before its a full blown interweb riot/hissyfit
LOL HAHAH....

right when i woke up i saw that email and started laughing my ass off.. thinking i wonder why that email was sent out ... very very odd timing i do say..

honestly it seems a bit better in the long run because theres guys that maybe test bud once .. so it opens the door to them.. I'm sure in the past the membership fees stopped a lot of people from joining.. but if you test enough its stupid to not have the lifetime deal

Haha, you both beat me to it. Boy I sure am glad that I bought my lifetime just before the new changes. I had a real strong feeling from Howards vibe when I have interacted with him, that he wouldn't leave us OG testers high and dry.
