I gotta ask, why Michigan? I know you've been looking to move for a couple years now, States are toppling like dominos and going legal.. I thought you were in Florida, didn't they just go legal?

Hillsdale has alot of ummm.. confederate flag flying type of folks. as well as alot of amish. if you act "country" and don't talk to anyone you will be fine. just a stones throw from ann arbor but almost like driving into a different world. check out the "hillsdale watch" facebook page for local hillsdale news. alot of meth.

Hi Corso , Why Mi ? Good question , I was born and raised just outside of Bryan Ohio , that's right by the Mi state line , We were farmers and love growing things plus I love the area and the Ohio and Mi people , yes its been about 3 years sense I started this journey , I have only met two RIU members Abe , and Homeless , I know this world would be a far better place if we had people like those two running things , I have followed your posts and know your in that group also , I would bet most all of RIU members would fit well into that group .

When I went to Mi about 3 years ago I didn't think I would live till the end of that year at that time I was 71 and a list of medical problems that seemed to be never ending , I then started the MM oil , now I am 74 and feel better than I have for 10 or 15 years . So I know what the Oil can do for us . Yes they passed laws here in Florida , but nothing that will allow us to grow , in other words No Freedom , LEO wants to keep us under their thumb and I hate that . Last night I mainlined 5 plants , that's going to an interesting project .

The reason I am starting this push again is because my older brothers wife has Pancreatitis cancer and the doctors have told her there is nothing more they can do for her , now my brother is real interested in the oil and I am trying to help them , its strange because 3 years ago I tried to get them on the oil , wanted my brother to partner up with me and get a place in Mi and start growing ( I cant make it work by myself because of money shortage and bad credit ) but he wanted no part of it now he is seeing that they should be on the oil , so I am starting over maybe this time something will work .

Sorry to hear about this, brother. Lansing has been very cannabis friendly. There is some talk about a few regulations by the inept city council here, but all stuff that will get pooped out in court. Cheap homes, liberal, mm friendly.

I have not looked around the Lansing area , spent time just below Lansing and prices were beyond my reach , I am looking for a place away from town that would have a junk house with maybe an old barn , just need to have an address , water and electric , want enough space for a garden and a few chickens , would convert part of the junk house into a greenroom ( kind of like a greenhouse inside a house ) , Here is where it falls apart , it has to be under 15,000 ? Sounds like your in the Lansing area , if you see anything like I want please PM me .

Are you talking about relocating to Michigan or only doing a seasonal grow and then leaving before winter? I ask because you now mention having farm animals, which tend to be year around.
Hi Abe , good to hear from you , bet your busy this time of year , no not year around just to cold up there for year around living , want a Snowbird set up , 6 months Mi and 6 months Florida . Man a lot has happened sense I last talked to you , my youngest Sons wife got sick and they got behind on things so they moved back in with us , had to shut everything down because of the 4 little grandkids being here ( all under 7 years old ) , so I got an old motor home , the bathroom and closet are a bit small but I have put them to good use LOL . I have always liked to raise chickens , I am only talking about maybe 6 chickens , will have fresh eggs and when its time to come back you and I can have one heck of a chicken feast , lots of garden salad to .

I like how the farm fresh eggs come in a variety of colors. During the summertime it's easy to purchase a dozen, at the farmer's markets, for the same price as super market eggs. Guess I'm too much of a city boy to be able to harvest the actual chickens when I'm done with them, especially if I tended to them, but I do like chicken heh.

Sounds like you have a full house with the kids and grandkids. Being a 'snowbird' really would be ideal, FL is too warm during the summer and MI has intense winters. We really haven't had that much snow in (lower) MI yet, but we have seen single digit temps. I'm looking forward to spring, another month or so and things will start thawing here. I planted a few varieties of garlic this past fall and I always do spring lettuce. Last year my kale managed to overwinter and regrow.

IMO you should be fine in Hillsdale county. Just keep it private, nothing obvious. It is a conservative area. I have friends there that have no issues. It's close to Bryan OH too. Which may be a plus for you from the sounds of things

Thanks , the Hillsdale area has been my choice from day one , Glad to hear that about the area . I for sure want to stay away from town , The place I want may not be listed in the realty links ,because it needs to be a piece of shit house small amount of land and cheap - cheap , realoters mostly dont even want to fool with a place like that .

Sounds like your turning into a farm boy , as good as you are at growing plants , your a natural produce grower , It is a bit hard to eat the chickens after raising them for a long time . I even have a hard time getting rid of a plant even when I know its not going to be worth a shit , how are the cats doing ? are they liking the cat run you built ? Have you mainlined any plants ? It is real interesting .

15k would be tough. The other thing out here is that most of the city pretty well has city lots. The distance requirement for chickens is almost impossible here. All the surrounding areas are pretty rural, but MJ friendliness drops off. I'll keep an eye out, but 30-50k seems to be the rate for anything that doesn't need $ to get up to code. Good luck!
