there is pigments in plants which can turn them red or purple, Purple strains purple up very easily, a lot of strains can purple up with exposure to cold. But not blue. Its a light

This looks very blue and maybe a light but I've crossed a couple of strains and blue is the color BlueWidow011_zps56d777b7.jpg Have yet to name it, but nasty meds for sure

It's possible. But it's not guarenteed. First you have to have the right strain (genotype) that is ABLE to produce blue buds. Second you have to have the right combination of random-ass-genetic-happenings within an individual SEED (phenotype) mixed with the perfect environment. If those two things collide; you'll have a super blue plant. But it's going to take luck and/or lots of attempts. Lots.

Obviously a blue light as seen cast on other plants partially in the background.
However even with strains containing the right pheno, its all about the environmental factors that produce that color late in flowering.
I could grow a purp strain in cali and it'll be plain green on the east coast... Like CRC420 said, its Luck and Skill, healthy portions of both.
