Doing my first grow journal! Sorry if I suck. I don't really care about weight it's summer and my outdoor girls are looking good. My gf loves the jilly bean strain by tga (subcool and mz jill) so fired the ol tent up for funzies.

Right now 8 are in coco/perlite covered in these grow stone things I got for free. Gonna give them a shot.

    2 are in soil

Temps are about 65-85 degrees f

    600 watt hps

Rh is at about 40% which is not good I know but I have so many mold issues in Sept/ Oct I am not going to add any more. Will shoot for 55% during later flowering

They took about 5 days to root out of jiffy pellets. It was my first time using jiffy pellets and I really don't like them but i wanted to try something new. Usually use a homemade aero cloner.
5 days ain't bad tho. Put in solo cups after seeing roots pop out. Vegged for additional week.
Take root hormone and distilled water in coco. Nothing else.
20170710_003859.jpg the ones in green/black pots were started 1 week earlier in the aero cloner

Going to do 1 week veg and straight to flower in 2 gal cloth pots!

Looking great bud I'm subbed for the ride. Why do you trim the fan leaves on your clones?

Two reasons. But mainly just the way I was taught.
    1. It's suppose to help the plant stop growing upwards and focus on roots. (This could be an old wives tale)
    2. Easier to track new growth which usually is when I check to see if it needs to be transplanted into a bigger pot.

I've been thinking of switching from soil to coco, what do you think of it? Hard to compare from your pics but what differences Hve you notice in growth between the two mediums? And any tips for me?

Quality dirt is better than coco all day in my opinion. Problem is finding bug free soil for indoor growing.
Yes I know you can bake dirt and cook it to get rid of bugs but I'm lazy as f.
Soil always grows thicker stems in My expierence. Much sturdier plants, less hassle for flowering. It's also much more forgiving.
Pretty hard to over Water in coco and it seems to grow faster but flimsier plants. The benefit of coco is it has no nutes where lots of store bought soils contain a bunch of shit cannabis doesn't need. Also you control better which nutes it's receiving at different points in it's grow cycle.
My advice would be if you're a beginner grower stick with soil. Plant nutes for coco get pretty $$$

Thanks for the solid advice man.
Not a fresh beginner but still got alot to learn. I've only ever grown in soil, but I've done it right a few times..
To me, the attractive part of coco is the frequent feedings, seems like the plants grow so much faster in hydro applications simply because of that.
Anyways, thank for the response, I'll be watching!

I cut my clones bc it slows the plant from transpriring water to fast with giant sun leaves. And does like you said concentrates on root growth. Allows more energy to be directed at roots.

Ok, so I have two phenos both don't stretch much wihin my setup. Something like 70-90%. #1 has nuggets as dense as stones, #4 growing bigger nuggets, nice scent. I have no plant stretching less than these both  strange world (:
