JMD's #3 Indoor grow (hydroponic)

After previous success with the Royal Dwarf (yielded 80g of high quality buds), I've now started my 3rd grow, using Royal Bluematic.

The setup consists of:
- 45L hydroponics
- 72W Cree LED (8:2, red:blue)
- 80W Chinese LED (8:4, red:6500k)
- 2x 20W IKEA CFL
- 60x60x120cm cabinet

Grow started 22-11-2013.

1 week and 2 days old:
Left her while I was away for about for 2 days, in which she grew 10 cm! So I had to make a crutch for her.

6 weeks old:
Now the growth is really starting to take off.

6 week and 5 days:
Only 5 days, but massive growth. She is extremely dense, but like last time I'm not going to trim any leaves.

You're doing great man!!
Congrats on your last run, too!! May I ask, was it 80g dry or wet??
How tall is she now? About 20cm??
Thanks!
Cheers, keep doing your thing!

Thanks mate! Last run was 80g dried to a crisp (<30% RH).

As of today she's 26 cm tall. The Royal Dwarf from previous grow seems to grow much faster. I hope this Royal Bluematic gets a biiit bigger over then next few weeks.

7 weeks and 1 day old:
Fed her a good strong mix yesterday, so hopefully she will start to grow a bit faster. Other than that.. she seems happy!

Really, 80g from a RD? That's top notch stuff!!!
Good luck with this one, too!! Follow what you've done in the past and you'll be fine for sure!!
Bluematic is taller but better yielder, I believe about 40-45cm final height? It's not bad though, it's better.. She looks really happy indeed, so anyway, everything else is just numbers!!

Keep up, cheers!! :bigjoint:

By now I would have expected much more from this strain, but growth is quite slow now. She measures just about 28-29 cm now. There is a slight "green" smell, but that's it.. she hardly smells at all.
Buds seems to be forming quite a few places (also in shadowed places). She is still extremely dense, not much have changed there.

I don't think the yield is going to be impressive from this one - at least not compared to the Royal Dwarf.

look really nice and healthy but you should really consider to swap to Reg/Fem seed`s instead of Auto`s

when I look at mine at week 5 of flowering

DSC03153.jpgView attachment 2961324

and around 3 week`s left, sure I had to Veg em out first, but that was done under some fluorescent light on a shelf wile my last batch did flower, not much work in it, made a repot and some topping, beside that just watering and left em do there stuff, as it a 8 week strain (flowering) I have time to Veg em with out Big light systems or much work before they go in under the LEDs but it is of course also a matter or space aso

The problem isn't as much that it isn't an auto, but that it's a different strain. Look at the Royal Dwarf when it was the same age as the Royal Bluematic is now:

That's a massive difference, right? The Royal Bluematic just isn't as fast growing.
I like the regular strains as well, but they take a bit longer - these I can keep down to 9-10 weeks (with up to 2 weeks overlap). Problem is also the space, as you mention. I don't have any additional space, than my 60x60cm cabinet.

I test these different strains because I like to try something new all the time :) The Royal Dwarf was awesome - STRONG and good yield. This one.. not sure yet, time will tell.

yes Im the same, like to try new stuff, and I hear you, my space is also limited, tho I found space for a 30x80cm shelf with a few fluorescent tube`s above where I can start seedling and veg em out a bit, made a big different, now I can harvest twice as often (every second month or so) and yes massive different, but you never know, it can easily surprise you in the end (seen it before) a slow starter can often be a strong finisher, so give it time

I have grow a few Auto`s now, some with bigger success then others, but non of them can compare in yield or strength with reg/Femi plant`s, don't think I will grow Auto`s agin (other then the few seed`s I have left from the sweet tooth) unless if I some day find my self growing outdoors and have a short summer/season or just want a early harvest, before the thieves and choppers get busy ;)

Sounds very nice :) Sadly my space is VERY limited, but on the other hand I have free electricity - bitter sweet situation.

I have a few more autos to test before I'm trying the regular strains again.

my first panel is a Fero/Bulldog light on 280W with double lenses and customized for flowering, got a smaller/cheaper one on sale on 192W to supplement it with and cover around the same as my old 600W HPS, roughly 1x1m do the job

on me 5th or was it 6th run with em so fare, and I have nothing to complain about, compared to my old 600W HPS they do a similar job

Still very little smell from her, but she's starting to get nice and frosty.

She's a funny one.. still very little smell compared to other autos I've had.
Starting to look nice and frosty with many flower sites.

Still doubting that the yield will be great.. but that's why I'm testing all this, so others don't have to :)

Getting better and better, hoping to get 1-1½ oz. Started a Northern Light Automatic yesterday, which is going to be the next one I grow (if it survives).

Ordered a Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400B today. It's a 1400 mA constant-current driver, with a maximum of 200W output. The best part is that it's 95% efficient at max load. I'm currently designing my own LED driver, but I want to test this one from Mean Well.

I'll keep you guys updated when I receive it :)
