Just another my first DIY build thread

Hey everyone, Im building 4 lights to cover my 4x4 tent. I'm using
20 clu048-1212 90cri 3500k w/ angelinas
20 Mechatronix mega 13450 hbg
4 hlg-240h-c1050a
Aluminum angle and flat bar

I have in everything I need but my heatsinks and reflector adapters, fedex in my town has sat on them for 2 days and not delivered them because they aren't specifically due for delivery yet. Yesterday I put the nema 5-15p plugs on my drivers and I built my frames.

Can I put a driver right above a heatsink? I had been planning to set the driver to the side of the frame but realized that would probably make the light unbalanced and it wouldn't be level.

^ that, mount them on a wall and run the wires overhead. if you have to put them on the frames, do not put them (or anything else, except fans) directly over the sinks

Hmm alright, I'll have to do more research on remote mounting then, I hadn't looked too much into it because it seemed like it would be a pain to deal with. How easy is it to move the lights and remote driver combo? Would I have to cut the wires anytime I wanted to take a light out of my tent?

Does it make any difference that i was planning on attaching the heatsink to the bottom of the flat bar in the middle of the frame and the driver would be sitting on top of the flat bar giving a little bit of breathing room? Or that the heatsinks are meant for the meanwhile hbg driver to go on top? I'm guessing not but just trying to feel out my options.

I appreciate both of your inputs :)

Just put a plug on the driver wires and use extension cords.... Hbg driver is made to sit on top.. Hlg isn't..

i have home made quantum boards with wires running to my buck converters, which sit next to the power supply on a shelf outside the tent.
i don't move them all over the place, but i've been able to make any adjustments i need to with no problems.100_2574.JPG
really should coil wrap those wires, just lazy

Are those plastic disconnects on the fans or lights? I bought some quick disconnects on Amazon and they don't disconnect, the male piece will just pull out of its insulation.

What's that box above the driver? A light controller similar to a helios?
no I have a GrowGreen Controller mounted elsewhere, that is a power, amp, volts, kwh meter. The Controller has a pwm connector to the box with the meter in it and and relay. I prefer manual dimming as i use it rarwely, but my controller can dim as well. I have epistar's on a separate power supply running supplemental colors.
