mars def grow but are not known for their longevity, hopefully whoever you bought it from is giving you a year warranty at least

I would go at least 2 weeks personally. Gives you time to top a couple times and get more bud sites at the canopy. You want to squeeze all the yield you can out of it.
I topped it today, the way it looks there will be 4-6 new tops. I supercropped two weeks ago and she has a nice knuckle on her now. Today was also a feeding day. I'm just gonna wait until it heals then switch to flowering. Should the light be closer than 12 inches away?

I don't have experience with mars or any led other than cobs now, so can't say for sure, but as long as you are getting good coverage and not burning leaves then yes.
