I finally received my Nidec TA600dc fan. It is 12vdc 2.0 amp. Rated at 235 CFM
I installed it, and man did it really move some air. I was impressed
However it was loud. Louder than I could tolerate. Even though sound is not an issue, this was actually annoying.
Now luckily I have numerous power adapters
I had to adjust the speed of this fan, but wasn't quite sure how.
After trying a dimmer switch and failing, I finally decide on a universal ac/dc power converter which has multiple voltage settings 3v,4.5v,6v,7.5v,9.0v,12v
After installing this it slowed the fan down to where the fan is a quiet hum and still maintain a high CFM
Anyway the lesson i learned is that even though there are cheaper exhaust fans out there that put out a great deal of CFM.
Fan speed is a must. Those High Rpms are just too noisy, unless you buy a ultra quiet one
