So I just ordered this http://summitgrowlabs.com/products/2-x-25-grow-lab
I have not used LED's in about 5 years and the ones I used were shit. I really like that this lab comes with everything needed to grow but I am a HID guy and have been for over a decade. First question, What do you think of the lab and the lights? and second question, Is there anything special I need to know about growing with LED's? The lights have a switch for veg and bloom and from what I understand the spectrum is great for plants. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated.

hard to say. im gonna lean towards yes in the right hands. let us know! most important factor is does the light work and keep working.

looks liek a decent setup if you need all that stuff. if youre an hid guy i cant imagine you dont already have power strips and circ fans and timers, etc. apart from the light thats like $300-$400 in gear. the light itself is $600

heres the deets onthe light itself:

i would certainly NOT beleive their claims of 218W replacing a 600. In fact im gonna duck before the tomato throwers pile on this thread because if theres one thing they hate its unrealistic claims. id say it can come close to maybe replacing a 400W HPS/MH or 315W LEC so expect 3/4-1 P from that

thats actually a nice spectrum and the cost per W is in line with other commercial fixtures (just under $3)

I would hang it a little higher than you think. 218W/5SF is 44W/SF and is on the upper end of where LEDs are usually run. id start at 24" from canopy and adjust. you'll get real nice even sidewall reflection and depth that way

Thanks for the advice about hanging, that is one of my concerns. And yeah I have all of the extas but I am eventually going to gift this to a patient in need, but I'm going to give it a few runs just to see what it can do. I'm excited to see what I can do with LEDs. Only one I ran was a cheap Chinese POS that left a bad taste in my mouth and a hole in my pocket. I talked a good bit with the owner, they are advertising on RIU so it was easy enough to contact them and they have a video that was cool so I got in. It's going to ship Monday so I will show you what it looks like when I get it. Thanks again
