Justifying Corporate Salaries in America

Have you ever wondered why the banking industry, the pharmaceutical industry, health insurance, oil, etc literally donates billions of dollars to candidates from both parties, throw lavish fundraisers for candidates from both parties, and hire armies of lobbiests to persuade members of both parties? Do you think that they are just feeling charitable, or do you think that they do it because it ends up paying off and benefitting them in the form of favorable legislation?

Did you wonder why Obama lined his cabinet with wall st executives, and allowed them to write the remedy for the banking crisis that they created?

Did you wonder why Obama continued on with the hawkish foreign policy in the Middle East, and dropped bombs from drones on people’s heads like it was his favorite hobby?

You’re not stupid buck. You’re choosing not to acknowledge this because you’ve hitched your wagon to one party. I get it to an extent. The Dems are far better when it comes to social issues, and social issues are important to you. That does not mean that you have to ignore areas where they should be held to task though. Why can’t you support the good that they do, and acknowledge the areas that they need to improve upon?
I get that you hate Democrats. I don't understand why you give Republicans a pass.

The only reason Citizen's United won in a 5-4 ruling in the Supreme Court was because of recent Republican appointees. Every Democratic appointee dissented. The Citizen's United ruling is entirely due to Republicans.

Every Democratic Party Senator supported Bernie's bill to amend the constitution in order to repeal Citizen's United. Republicans stopped Bernie's bill, not Democrats

As president, Obama was not the one who wrote the Wall Street "reform" legislation. It was written in Congress and could not pass without Republican consent. Agree that the legislation was weak but it wasn't Obama's to write.

I'm pretty sure you don't know Obama's reasons for those Drone strikes. I don't like them either but undoubtedly it was not his favorite hobby.

What you wrote is filled with what's called "leading questions". It's a cowardly way of making a point. How about saying what you mean instead of insinuating?

I don't have to make stuff up to answer that question. It always was about oil. Oil drives the US economy. Oil companies made a killing in the 50's and 60's. Israel made a compliant partner with the US. Palestinians got fucked over.

In short, nobody pushed Israel and the US to do terrible things. Fucking over Palestinians and Persians and other people of the Middle East was done in US's and multinational corporations interest. Haven't you heard Trump's words about "Islamic Terrorists"? Much more than half of the people of the US are completely ignorant about people in other parts of the world. There is no hidden conspiracy, it's all out in the open for all to see if they will only look.

When you post your woo-woo conspiracy nonsense, you sound more like Trump than somebody worth listening to. That's the worst possible thing anybody could say to you.

Not the Rothschild family. In America, there's a group of a few hundred families who own and earn enough to influence government, they're the. 01%, making over $30 million annually. Trump is one, the Mercer family is another, the Koch brothers, the Walton family, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, there are more.

When such people own the vast majority of the nation's assets and earn most of the income, in a plutocracy like ours they simply buy the laws they want.

The United States is more of an oligarchy than Russia under Putin, these guys did a study on the subject;

I believe it's the dollar that drives the us economy, oil has to be sold in "us dollar" which in reality worth nothing more than paper and ink, didn't you see what happened to who tried to sell their oil in a different currency?

Israel is more than a partner to the US, more like the manager.

multinational corporations = most likely majority of shares owned by a few individuals or families.

yes we heard Trump's words about "Islamic Terrorists", like we heard about communism before and Palestinian terrorists.

"Much more than half of the people of the US are completely ignorant about people in other parts of the world. There is no hidden conspiracy, it's all out in the open for all to see if they will only look."

True statement there, things like that do not get covered in the main stream media, they just show stupid stuff called "entertainment".

"you sound more like Trump"
that hurts man

If either one of them did anything illegal they should pay the price. It seems odd to me though that they would knowingly do anything illegal when they really didn’t stand to personally benefit from it. This loan was for the school was it not?

And yes, I’m aware that his wife had a $200,000 “golden parachute”, but to my knowledge that had nothing to do with financing in question. She would have cashed in on that either way.

But yeah, if there was willful negligence by either one of them then they need to face the consequences...
$200,000 is more like a copper parachute. A lot of money, sure, but not remotely on the scale the real players work on.
