Money lost to whatever team picks him up.
Depends on the team. Most teams season tickets are all sold out. Most staduims get sell outs with ease...unless you are the Chargers. Hell Green Bay needs a quarter back and there fan base will always attend. They also are ran by a board vs one owner. I'm a football fan and I know many who would love the team who picks up Kap.

I wish he had a case, but he did leave an offer that was on the table with San Francisco. He also has to have some kind of evidence of collusion...emails, phone call witness, something ? I'm for sure on his side, but I do try to keep it in reality.
he walked away from a job? LOL

i feel less bad for him then, even though the niners suck ass.

Yeah he had a contract on the table, but left it thinking he would get more. I support his cause but he should have took the money offered

The problem now is system wise he doesn't fit and teams would have to change offenses.....it ain't gonna happen this year maybe next year. I'm wishing him well

The money wasn't guaranteed and the 49ers office said they were probably going to cut him. He would have been cut later in the summer, which would have given him less time to work out a deal. At the time he left the 49ers, there were seven teams in need of a first string quarterback. Leaving when he did gave him his best chances of landing on another team.

This is what was written about his walking away from the contract at the time:

he's picked a good time to hit the open market. The demand for quarterbacks remains sky high around the league, but the number of available options continues to dwindle.

Along with a mediocre draft class at the marquee position, the Washington Redskins announced Kirk Cousins received the exclusive franchise tag Tuesday, and Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Wednesday the New England Patriots are planning to keep Jimmy Garoppolo.

Looking ahead, if the Buffalo Bills ultimately decide to exercise the option in Tyrod Taylor's contract, Kaepernick could emerge as the most coveted quarterback available this offseason. He may not be a legitimate long-term answer, but he could be a solid short-term solution.

The New York Jets, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams are just a handful of teams that could look to upgrade at the position before the 2017 season.

49ers GM John Lynch confirmed as much.

"Yes, and we had that conversation with him. So I don't want to characterize it as he made a decision to leave here. We both sat down and under that current construct of his deal, it was a big number," Lynch said. "Kyle [Shanahan] had a vision for what he wanted to do, and one thing I think Kyle was very clear and I think Colin appreciated, is that Kyle has an idea of how he'd play with Colin Kaepernick. ... So he had a great discussion that I think gave Colin clarity, so we moved on.

From what I've heard, many don't think he has a good enough case to win. I can only speculate why he's initiating the suit but I'm guessing he's still acting in the role of an activist.
