I just called my light company to get my kw/per charge. I thought this was extremely high....but maybe you guys pay something similar. Im @ 14.6 cents per kwh.

I was assuming it was somewhere under 10 cents per kwh.

Next go round....instead of using this 400w HPS for the entire grow....I think I'll buy some of those blue veg cfls 85watts I think....a couple of those should do the trick for veg.

I guess when gas prices go up so does everything else...I'm feeling those prices as well...i think my electrical company just bumped their rates to $0.15 per kw/hr....using 105watt CFL's to save a bit

Yeah...I talked to the rep and she asked if I wanted to get on the residential program. if I do...they'd lock me into the current .14/hour for an entire year.

I would do it...but I think the rates are higher now because its spring/summer time. Maybe I'll do it during the fall when the rates are a few cents lower per hour.

Good to know its about average and Im not paying out the buttocks because Im in a "hot spot".

they really helped us out, they reduced our fuel charge to 3.5 cents per kwh.

during the winter you will save a bit, just wait till you get a ARM meter, your growing days will be over then... JK it is very dangerous to cycle lights on a ARM meter by 2010 they will charge you based on when you consume the most enegry

Hey guys. I just purchased a 105W 6500K CFL from topbulb.com.
105W 6500K SUPER BRIGHT COMPACT FLUORESCENT
The price seems pretty reasonable for the wattage. They also have CFL's for flowering. I hope this can help me with energy usage.
This is going to be my first grow and I will post a journal on this site since this forum has been so helpful for me to get more knowledge.
