Kurple Fantasy........

Produced by Imperial Genetics, bought from www.seedsherenow.com. Genetics are 92' OG Kush X Old Mountain Man Purps, 75% Indica, 25% sativa, 20-25% THC, above average yield, done between 56-63 days.
It was a Denver Cup winner in 2012 or 2013. More of a "west-coast" strain, I am on the east coast and never heard of it before I bought it.

Here's the good and bad.........first off, seeds were old, less then 50% germination. Seedsherenow was giving a free seed on each 5 pack because of it, I'm guessing. Imperial Genetics was just removed from the Seedsherenow website, I'm not even sure they are in business anymore. High Times did a full color spread on the company in 2015, here's the link: http://hightimes.com/grow/grow-masters-session-imperial-genetics/

I had contacted Seedsherenow about the strain and poor germination, they flat out lied to me as I later found numerous complaints on the same problem- don't give them your business, you won't be happy. At $65 for 6 seeds, and 1/2 of them don't sprout, $20 a seed is at the extreme end of the spectrum. Contact me if you want a nice list of other U.S. based seed vendors that sell a nice selection and ship quickly.

What did grow, grew nicely. The 11 plants were pinched once to control height, and they were easy to grow and performed nicely. It was solidly done by 9 weeks, some plants could have been cut at 8 weeks. Great purple coloring on about 1/2 the plants, the other half were a nice lime green. Buds are dense with nice size, final weight was average at best- maybe 1.75 oz a plant. The resin production is great as the pic below will show.

The high is very indica, relaxing and mellow. The sativa is still felt in the buzz, around the temples and eyes. It's not over powering, just a chill pill that comes on quickly and slowly builds to a sustained soft ride. The smell and taste are kushy, no desiel or fruit- just a deep, dank and rich smoke.

Not necessarily a keeper in my garden, but an easy grow of a high quality final product. I think these seeds are finished and not available anymore, along with Imperial Genetics.

I feel really stupid. I grew the kurple fantasy on 12/12. Bought several autos but thought the Kurple Fantasy :& lemon thia were regular seeds. Are they autos? Good high but bad yield. Cloned and it looked a little weird.

Nice write up, I've wondered about this strain and almost pulled the trigger on the same seeds at one point.

Yep, I'm a dingbat. Kurple Fantasy was an auto. It was really extremely good. I guess yield was good for an auto. About 3 oz. Knew something was wrong as buds lost potency. Card that came with it had same info on flowering time as the Lemon Thai so I assumed it was not auto. Need better magnifier. Started two more of these & a Big Budda SAS & Super Natural OG
I've been extremely happy with seedsherenow. 100% popped. And been awhile since I ordered but they replied right away today to answer my question. I'm happy.

Did you read what I wrote? It is an auto. At least according to seedsherenow. It really made sense as I thought it regular seed and flowered at 12/12.

This is from Greenpoint Seeds website

Kurple Fantasy #1 is a multiple award-winning strain here in Colorado bred by Fuji of Imperial Genetics. Bubba, Josh, and Paul of Imperial Genetics are also responsible for sourcing the '92 OG from Florida in the Early 1990's, which also is in the Kurple Fantasy. They sourced the "Old Man Purps" from an old man growing up in the mountains that turned hermaphrodite. They collected the pollen, dusted several strains they had at the time including the '92 OG they were growing. They collected seeds the '92 OG produced from the Old Man Purps pollen, popped them, pheno hunted that round of seeds, and from there is they discovered the Kurple Fantasy # 1 and #2.

Just checked and seedsherenow don't offer any Imperial Genetics now. When googled Imperial G. has a new site under construction.

It's my thread, I grew 11 of them- if seedsherenow had said they were auto's, I would have never bought them in the first place. Not an auto, period.

I really don't think so either. I have two just potted and wanted to add 2 more is the reason I sent email to seedsherenow. Want all the same of course. Want to do all autos or all regular. I've scanned the internet and found nothing on a kurple fantasy auto. I'm going with two more Lemon Thai and the 12/12 again. Dustin there seems a nice guy but wrong on this I think.

I think it is more wise to grow reg. seeds and do 12/12 to flower early. Only takes about 3 more weeks than auto but you get more than twice the yield. Less on electric bill as well. The KP didn't make near as large a crop as Lemon Thai but it was good smoke also I already have the seeds.

The reason I thought Dustin might be right at first is my Kurple Fantasy was a little stunted & had problems.. 3 1/2 feet and I vegged for a long time. Think it was me leaving city water out for 24 hours. Found out that doesn't always work now. After I started using Start Right in water, they looked much better.

What does any of that have to do with you thiking it was an auto "plant" Do you understand the term "auto".

Yes I do. But I intended to order all autos but very little info on their site on each strain. Ordered from Attitude in the past and info on all seeds. Finished a couple Fantasy Expression and they were ok. The Blue Cush Auto, not so hot. Still learning. Started smoking when it was $15. oz but never grew until 2012. Had to stop but I'm at it again. Hehe haha. love it. Thought the guy at seedherenow might be wrong so I only popped two more Kurple Fantasy. So glad I waited. Going now to add two Lemon Thai to this grow.

From my experience and a few others, kurple fantasty grows very slow, so slow that I almost threw away both of the seeds I germinated. Glad I didnt now.

Exactly. My Lemon Thai was twice the size in same amount of time. That is what had me so confused. I'm with you though. Growing again because it's good smoke!
